Also, not that we are on this topic, but Hurt by Johnny Cash is the best cover ever

Agreed on the modern music points completely, but I’m going to say something blasphemous here. For the life of me, I don’t understand why this thought is so common. It has nothing to do with Cash, who I absolutely love. The cover is very, very good. But he has quite a few late career covers that are too.

And also “Cocaine Blues” was a cover and the Folsom version might be the best recording ever made.

The Eagles can’t be the actual bottom because Don Henley had a solo career afterward. Trust me, it’s worse.

The Joe Walsh solo career is orders of magnitude worse than the Don Henley solo career. You can take the Eagles out of the Eagles, but you can't take the Eagles out of the Eagles, if you know what I mean, and I know you do.

In fairness it’s due to the music video. The song is very good, but the video sends it to the moon. Just really helps drive the point home that although it’s the same song with nearly all the same words it becomes a new song with a different meaning

I WOULD RATHER LISTEN TO A RECORDING OF A MICROPHONE HIDDEN IN A REST STOP TACO BELL RESTROOM THAN A SINGLE SECOND OF THE EAGLES MUSIC OR MUSIC MADE BY ANY CREATURE ASSOCIATED WITH THAT WAR CRIME OF A BAND
I'm going to duct tape you to a chair and play this on an endless loop. After a couple of days you'll be begging for the Eagles
