Every single era / decade has GREAT music, including today. The best music just hasn't been the most mainstream music since the Late 90's. Any other take is false. No further questions.

The latest late 90s (meaning 98-99) were absolute dog shit. 91-ish (but more 93) to 97 is as good a period as there ever has been.

Yep. 98-99 was a perfect storm of shit. The effects of the Telecommunications Act of 1996 finally settled into place while TRL, Boy Bands, Butt Rock, and Britney Spears emerged. Dark days. I turned to underground Hip-Hop like Common, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, etc. to get by.

Was this asked in reference to your thoughts on The Beatles debut album?

You remember back a few years ago when Colby Cohen was doing postgame tv shoutouts for people who called the first Flyers Goal scorer on Twitter? I entered every one with Giroux's name and asked him to say it was my 11 year old son instead of me. And to call him by his nickname "Striiker" for privacy reasons.

Ask him how he feels about "Come Together," probably the worst pile of shit ever committed to tape.

Is this actually true?!

I am not in a place right now to write something thoughtful about it, but I am a big fan of modern music and think there’s a lot of terrific music being released these days, but it does often get drowned out by the mass of bad music. Often times music is made as a single to get streams and the art of writing an album is a bit of a lost art.

There will always be people trying to push the boundaries though, and it’s easier than ever to make whatever sound you want come out of your MacBook.

Also, not that we are on this topic, but Hurt by Johnny Cash is the best cover ever

Okay but Last of the Mohicans and La La Land were both clues in the same category on Jeopardy tonight.

Teach me the sound that can take me away. Play it again and again until I find rapture.
