Ok! here's something for everyone (in fact, I kinda think its own-thread worthy).

I just got a Nintendo Switch. First console I've gotten since PS2. Started talking about the 10 greatest games of all time, and how I've missed the boat on pretty much all of 'em.

What do you guys think belongs in the discussion of say... top 10-20 games ever made?

I added Mario64. Link to the Past. Chrono Trigger. FF7. Kingdom Hearts. That's my entire contribution, unless you guys think Mega Man X and Resident Evil 2 belong there

I'm not really a video game guy, but I did enjoy playing several of the Final Fantasy games. NHL '94 was fun, too.

Guys, help me figure out what to do with our new TV. Hulu live tv for example bundles with ESPN+. Does anyone have ESPN+? Could I watch our local sports? Other options? Peacock? I'm thinking we're going to Roku/firesticks it

What's the deal with blackouts? I'm in market

I have Hulu Live/Disney+/ESPN+ bundle. Never had any issues streaming the local sports through Hulu, and ESPN+ streams a shitload of hockey games so you can get your fill of real live actual hockey after watching (or not) the Flyers take a wet shit on the ice. It integrates right into Hulu too, so you can catch ESPN+ right from Hulu app.

Technically, no, you could not watch local sports due to blackouts. However, You can route through a VPN on your router to Phoenix or something, and then ESPN will think you're out of market and allow you to watch the local games.

EDIT: missed Hulu live. If they carry NBCSN, then you have no issue. It's like local cable.

I have ESPN+ (Disney+ bundle, which also gives you Marvel, Star Wars, and Nat’l Geo) and Peacock. Peacock for Premier League and Olympic type sports (not just during the Olympcs though).

I‘m in NY so I watch the Flyers on ESPN+ but I assume that would be blacked out in Philly.

So sixers and Phils would be good to go with ESPN+ in the Philly area?

Edit: nvm

Hulu asks where home is. I could just lie. Thats def an option.

I haven't seen anything that carries nbcsn. Would peacock have that?

According to tv guide, NBC regional networks are on Hulu live. That matches what I remember from when I bothered with live TV, but I can't pull up Hulu's actual website. You won't get those if you're just doing traditional Hulu though.

In 2014 I did a top 10 list for hf, and it looked like this:

10) Halo: Combat Evolved
9) Mariokart 64
8) Goldeneye
7) Medieval II: Total War
6) Mass Effect
5) Team Fortress 2
4) Star Wars: X-Wing Alliance
3) The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
2) Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
1) Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

I look at it as a favorite list, rather than a best list. Goldeneye in particular has not aged well, but I had such a blast playing it as a kid, I couldn't not put it on the list. Other games I'd add to the list would include, but are not limited to:

Outer Wilds
Journey
Battlefield 1
Transistor
Dragon Age: Origins
Rimworld
XCOM: Enemy Unknown/Within
Rocket League
Dark Souls 3
Elden Ring

My personal Favorites list

1 - Final Fantasy VII / FF7 Remake - by a landslide, I have a tattoo lol
2 - The Last of Us
3 - Metal Gear Solid
4 - Red Dead Redemption II
5 - NHL 94 - still play with friends
6 - Spiderman (PS4) - replaying right now with my daughter
7 - Tomb Raider II
8 - NBA Jam Tournament Edition (Sega Genesis) - still play with friends
9 - Aladdin (Sega Genesis) - childhood favorite and play it with my daughter
10 - California Games - NES - another major nostalgia pick and still fun today

Retro games are still a big part of my gaming experience. I have an NES, Sega, Sega Saturn, Atari 2600 and TurboGrafx16 all hooked up to a CRT in a nook in my basement. Lots of fun to play when people are over.

Came here to see who else is eating up the drama in the competitive fishing world (Note: I don't give AF about fish, but this is too good).

Dudes were shoving weights & fillets-o-fish down fish throats when competing in tournaments for prizes like 100K...had been doing it for years.

I've never been so excited by fish.
