Yeah, I don't get the obsession with defending Archibald some Penguins fans feel.

He's a borderline NHLer who stinks.
I don't think he's anything special but he's been OK so far. 5v5 anyways. Our pk stinks. He doesn't play a ton there but he does play some.

Lmao go look at how ZAR is doing in Toronto this year. He has produced nothing, is doing nothing and is getting slaughtered analytically.

Complaining about Archibald is just grinding an ax and pushing an agenda that has existed since the off-season. He's doing exactly what he should be doing for his role and what he's paid.

Your defending a borderline player like he is somehow going to impact a game in a positive way. Let me know when he does that. I would rather see DOC or Hallander in that spot and have archi as number 13. At least you have some upside.

Lol. I watch every game as you know considering I post in every PGT. Don't resort to that garbage, you're a better poster than that.

My opinions are and always have been backed up by both my eyes and analytics. The two don't always agree. The analytics don't love Heinen so far this year which I disagree with.

Sorry didn't mean it like that, bad wording on my part. I just think Poehling has clearly passed the eye test to the point where I don't think his analytics show the full picture. There's also a pretty massive discrepancy between McGinn, Poehling and Archibald, which makes me question the numbers a bit.

Archibald somehow has a positive xGF%rel this year, while Poehling and McGinn are massively negative. I just don't see how that happens, or at least that's something that should get washed away with a larger sample size.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I think you've lost some objectivity this season. There's players that you made clear you wanted to succeed here in the summer and you've been bending over backwards to defend them at every opportunity, no matter how poorly they play. That's not the you I'm used to. That's more like HoG.

We need production from our bottom six at 5v5. He's done nothing.

I understand McGinn has done nothing too, but like.. try Poulin.

A $700k player who was brought in for speed and physicality isn't paid to produce. The guy who's paid to produce is the guy making $2.75 million on that line.

No argument here. Poulin should be playing. No reason not to considering the 5v5 results we're getting from our bottom six so far.

Despite my complaints about Poehling I'd probably keep him in ahead of Archibald too (even though Archi has outplayed him) if only because Poehling has future upside and Archibald will never be any better than he is now.

Who have I defended regardless of their play?

I have no clue who you're talking about.

You're good homie. We're all a little stressed right now given how bad the team is playing.

I do agree that regardless of what the stats say, I'd keep Poehling in over Archibald. Poehling is young and has upside; Archi has next to none. Poehling should be in over Archibald and McGinn for that matter.
