My take is that you should be seeing a short pass from the boards to center ice in the neutral zone.

They keep attempting it, but it hasn't connected even once this game.

Imagine being such a disgusting, worthless franchise that you draft a 1st overall, a 2nd overall, a goalie that wins a Vezina in his second season and are giftwrapped the best defenseman in the NHL, and the result is a one year “miracle underdog” window.

The Devils got here by being bad for ten years.

We ruined it by shooting our load on the rebuild and hitching our wagon to this mid ass lineup.

We should have had another handful of very high picks.

We basically reneged on the letter not even two calendar years later. Gorton couldn't help himself and sank the whole ship.
