The one thing this team likes is adversity. This wasn’t a terrible loss and they went down swinging, which is the most important to at least me. We usually come back and destroy the next team and I’m always down for that!

Clearly it hurt taking too many pims, but not excuse imo. Bortuzzo played only 8:36. Joshua played only 6:44. Neighbours 9:22. Kostin 8:22.

James deadbody Neal played 16:42.

I like Neighbours gets responsibility for pk, but I don't understand why you force Thomas play PK when you have player like Joshua who is capable for that job. Better FO guy and maybe even better at PK. Poor's man ROR at PK if you like to say it.

I don't like how Berube gives some odd ice time for certain players and noteing what are their best attributes.

Lack of knowledge for players usage.

Avs destroyed us. Lucky was they didn't score wide open scoring spots, could have been ugly numbers.

I love how Faulk doesn't forget Kadri blind hit. That is leadership what this is build from and recept for success.

I almost saw Parayko play much physical way. Kind of, but no. Shame he doesn't have that mean streak on him. He had so many good spots where he could have destroy Avs players.

Mikkola could bring that physical game to our back end, but what Walman brings I'm fine him playing.

Neal played extremely well last. Did you watch the game?

I watched afterwards. Didn't impress me at all. He is just there. Rather see Kostin ja Neighbours play bigger ice time. They can create plays and make room for his linemates. + Kostin is maybe our most physical forward.

Blues dug their own grave with the penalties.

Not having ROR or Saad hurt.

Tank was the only veteran who did much tonight.

First loss. Not terrible, but predictable.

Yes, it was clear early on that this likely wasn't going to be our night. I can't blame Faulk for wanting payback on Kadri, but playing one d-man down for the first period was tough. The total lack of offensive pressure for the first 40-50 minutes of the game didn't help either. Perron was mostly invisible, which tells me he needs ROR to be his usual dominant self and Buch was just kind of there. Neighbours didn't get the puck deep on that 4th Colorado goal, or else we might have sent it to OT despite being dominated in possession.

The refs did suck to some degree but one reason we took so many penalties was the constant pressure the Avs put on us. Even with normal reffing, we had no business winning this game. Shake it off and play a better game against the Hawks.

I dunno aboot the rest of you, but color me unimpressed with the Avalanche. If not for two bad goals we win. We win by three or more goals with ROR and Saad.

What’s the score when you put Rantanen, Toews, Girard, and Nichushkin back in Colorado’s lineup?

To me, the Avalanche remain a clearly superior team.

Once again I'm disgusted by the behavior of Avs fans who took it upon themselves to troll our GDT last night. This has been going on since last season and I don't recall it happening much with other fanbases even during heated PO games during 2019. There's a sense of entitlement oozing from that fanbase as if common decency doesn't apply to them. They're "special".

There's an unspoken rule about opposing team boards being off limits for agitating and picking fights. Next time you f***ing disrespectful, entitled little bitches want to pick a fight do it on the NHL talk board like civilized posters do.

+1 they beat us even missing most their important players.

Our d-core can't handle their speedy forwars. Only Scandella and Parayko were really stepping up vs Avs. Their defensive stick was on another level.

It could be that bringing Mikkola could help us defensively. He has long reach and active defensive stick. Knows how to use it. Faulk, Krug and Walman are just too easy to beat 1on1. Bortuzzo fells middle of that. Better than Faulk, Krug and Walman at defensively, but not that good really. I view Mikkola as same as Bortuzzo.

Have they dominated us while we were fully healthy?

No? Ok so quit the bullshit.

*I apologize to any PETA members for using the word “bull”.

Uhhh yes. The playoffs until Faulk got hurt. They destroyed us in Game 1.

I believe they were missing Rantanen last year when we beat them twice late in the year. They were missing Mac and Landy when beat them earlier this year.

It's unlikely both teams will be fully healthy and need to win Game 81 in Denver, one or both will probably be resting players for the playoffs.

I think there is an inherent advantage in embracing the underdog role vs. Colorado; it is aikido.

What the hell was that last night after the game?

Three Avs posters came over to our board after the game to talk shit and were summarily executed.

Avs fans both hate and fear Ryan O'Reilly. It all goes back to this. :sarcasm:

Neighbor's play really hurt. You don't want your goalie to let in a soft goal, but there's not a lot anyone can do about that. But Neighbor's made a bad decision there that led to the goal, where if he made a better choice the team has a chance to get to OT.

I think the refs realized they'd blown the call by giving Faulk an instigator when they later gave the misconduct to Kadri. It was a make-up call I guess?

The Blues were probably due for a loss anyway, but missing ROR and Saad among others hurt. Then the way the first period played out with so many PKs compromised the game. I'm glad they fought back. I don't think this result is very predictive of much going forward.
