1/8th Assed GDT Game 6 - This is what happens

Neighbor's play really hurt. You don't want your goalie to let in a soft goal, but there's not a lot anyone can do about that. But Neighbor's made a bad decision there that led to the goal, where if he made a better choice the team has a chance to get to OT.

I think the refs realized they'd blown the call by giving Faulk an instigator when they later gave the misconduct to Kadri. It was a make-up call I guess?

The Blues were probably due for a loss anyway, but missing ROR and Saad among others hurt. Then the way the first period played out with so many PKs compromised the game. I'm glad they fought back. I don't think this result is very predictive of much going forward.

They gave matching Misconducts to Kadri and Binnington. It just didn't get announced.

I think Binnington is always pretty deliberate when he does his antics. In other words, I think he decides he's going to do it because he's trying to spark the team, not that he's losing his cool.

Pang said that the Blues came back and won that San Jose game last year, which I had forgotten. They also managed to fight back and make a game of the match last night. So, you could argue that the team responds to these antics. Reading the main board, its amusing how bent out of shape some people get over it. He's never hurt another player to my knowledge, nor even come close. I'm kind of rooting for him to get the Team Canada spot just for the cognitive dissonance from some of his haters.

Blues. I absolutely bleed blue, and my first sports memory was actually listening to a Blues/Avalanche game on the radio with my dad when I was four years old.

Oh, God, not Sakic. I remember him scoring two of the goals. We lost somewhere around 4-2 (not entirely sure, but I'm definitely sure that Sakic scored two.)

5-1 and our only loss came during a Ref Fest game to the notorious Refalanche. I am proud that they found a way to make a game out of it though, could have very easily folded when it was 3-1 after the Refs smacked them with a steel chair.

Blues got outplayed but the shot total is the typical misleading stat it usually is. When you get 0 PP time and the other team spends 10 minutes on it, of course you are going to get outshot. That is like swiping right to every girl on Tinder and claiming you got more matches than the guy who makes sure he only swipes for women he is actually interested in.

Chief will not be happy and we need to be better Saturday vs Chicago. LETS GO BLUES

I remember in the playoffs, the broadcast bragging it up, and I'm just like they had 10 shots in first 10 minutes but only 1 shot that was close to a scoring chance.

Man oh man what a game last night. Where to start.

Love Faulk going after Kadri. Don't even care about the misconduct.

Officiating. Atrocious is the best word to describe it.

1st Missed the trip on Thomas then 30 seconds later, call the SAME EXACT trip on Kostin. That is the stuff that drives me nuts as a fan of the game.
End of game that missed game.

They need to split up these younger guys so they can actually learn to call the game.

There was ZERO flow to game for 1st half of the game. Then officials put away the whistle.

Blues didn't play their best, which I kinda expected, but at least we showed some fight.

The Avalanche are one of the best teams in the league at generating quality too: They're consistently at the top of xGF metrics.

Thomas. Imho. Thomas is the playmaker and Tarasenko is the finisher. Barbashev is the role player on that line.

Looks like he has anger management issues if you ask me. You can justify it with comeback wins if you want to, but it is not normal to throw fake punches and swing sticks just out of the reach of someone’s head. No one has gotten hurt… yet.

What did they miss? Seemed like a set play to me. Schenn lobbed a soft pass to Faulk they knew would bring Kadri over. Instead of playing the puck Faulk punched Kadri to the ice, threw his gloves off, and then picked Kadri up to fight him. If anything, he got off easy but if that wasn’t an instigator then nothing is.

Thomas. Barbashev's early offensive success is well beyond what he's shown earlier in his career despite being given opportunities with O'Reilly. He's also shooting at 30%.

Yzerman has had a penchant for destroying all of St. Louis’ hopes and dreams for several millennia now, but I also like what he has done with TB and now DET.
