uh he has. He's been the worst goalie inevery playoff series he has played in. The fact that our offense has been trash doesn't absolve freddy.

That is disingenuous at best, or you could craft it truthfully, last year he was top 2 in GAA and SV% or he had 3 quality starts, which is typically enough to win a 5 game series.

The fact he was the 2nd best goalie in last years playin + playoffs and our team was shut out twice kinda does absolve Freddy. Is he suppose to score too?

The problem with Andersen isn't his overall playoff performances, it's the fact that he does a Lalime in a game 7/do or die every damn year.

Krug and DeBrusk goals in 2018
Nordstrom and Kuraly goals in 2019
Foudy goal last year

Patrick Lalime himself has a career .927 sv% in the playoffs, but no one ever considers him a clutch goalie. I wonder why.

No one is saying Freddy is THE problem. The fact that we've scored a grand total of 1 or fewer goals in every damn do or die game (outside of 2018) is the biggest problem. But Freddy sure as shit wasn't part of the solution either.

we lost because our goalie was outplayed by the opposing tender again , hell even with Mo saving a goal Campbell still cost us the game

The players should all watch Josh Anderson's performance from last night. Played a full 180-foot game, hustled full throttle on a backcheck to break up a 2-on-1. He knew his role is more than generating offense, it's about doing everything he can on every play to help his team win.

That's how teams win the playoffs: It's great to finish checks, not be afraid of taking abuse in the corners or in front of the net, it's also about raising your game everywhere. You backcheck on every play, every time, you block shots, always be engaged in the play, every shift.

Uh, that is more disingenuous looking at the entirety of it. Why don't we look at high danger chances allowed and you'll how bad freddy was there vis a vis the chances we allowed. And he always had craptastic game 7's. He has a horrible clinching record and has allowed soft goals. The fact that our offense has been wanting does NOT mean freddy has been fine. Each series he was outgoalied. Period.

The offence scored one goal. Is he supposed to get a shutout for the Leafs to win?

Blackhawks never had any problem with shoddy goaltending.

How many posts did we hit? Considering the circumstances I think we played alright. This team is going to turn it around, I have faith in the boys.
Quoting another poster.

"The Leafs generated the least amount of scoring chances (13) and the least amount of high danger scoring chances (5) among any team in any game so far in the playoffs."

both goals were easily stoppable especially the game winner so if the soup man played even avg we would have won

also we were shut out in the deciding game last year and Andy was blamed for the loss so i'm just trying to be consistent

Campbell didn't cost us the game. He was as solid as a rock. If this team needs Campbell to record a shut out to win then our "high octane" forwards should have taken much less so that we could bolster our Blueline with top talent. That what their pitiful 2.15 GPG average in the playoffs might still be enough to win games.

solid as a rock ?

he let in 2 muffins and Rielly saved a goal or it would have been 3 muffins , the lengths people go to defend our goalies is astounding

a goalies job is to bail out the team in front of him and make the big save so i've read endlessly on this board , Andy couldn't outplay his counterpart and through the first game the Soup man couldn't either

lets hope Campbell can step up and at least plays avg or we won't be making it to the next round

It ain't just these past six games, it's these past five years.

2016-17 to present.

Regular season goals per game, 3.30, 3rd in NHL.
Playoffs goals per game, 2.46, 22nd in NHL.

Totally unacceptable.
When the going gets tough the Leafs shrink like violets.

No, we don’t shit on our star forwards when they underperform in game 7s and such. Just our goalies.

Sure will be interesting if we lose the series.

34, Dubas and Keefe all have their fan club

Campbell is the preferred next one.

Nylander is a target but he's the only one who scored.

Who do you blame if it all goes wrong?

I'd rather not think about it.

Bingo. You see little to none of this from the Leafs players.

So far Campbell's stats are 2.08 GAA with a SV% of .933.

If you can't win with that kind of goaltending your team sucks.

I said previously that the one positive to take from the game was that despite everything that went wrong, we still deserved to win that game based on the scoring chances created.

I'm really hoping the boys come out really hard tommorow, because if they lose this series I think marner gets traded in the offseason. I'm a huge fan of Mitch so hopefully the boys hit the next gear.

I don't know how he goes from a 100 point player in the regular season to being so ineffective in the post-season.
