Proposal: Zegras to HABS

Zegras has shown that hes one of the few players in the league that can keep up with Caufield and hit him in that sweet spot for the one tee,, in order for the Habs to get full value out of Cole and use him properly, they need someone like Zegras to be robin to Coles Batman.

Here is what I propose,,



Zegras
Zellwegger
4th round pick



Norlinder
Mysak
2023 1st round pick
2024 1st round pick
Tuch (to be flipped to Buffalo for another pick to play with his brother - Buffalo would value him higher to you could probably get another 1st rounder out of this).

D-swap of prospecs in Norlinder and Zellwegger as it seems Norlinder would look good in Anaheims system.

Potentially three 1st rounders for Zegras.. Bit of an overpay for MTL but you have to pay to get good players.,,

Zegras is definitely the best piece but id say the three 1st round piks are higher valuation than Zellwigger

If zellweger was born a week later he’s prob a top 10 pick in this years draft

We drafted zell and he’s been great… really no interest in moving him in hopes we get basically another zell

This, the Ducks aren't going back to rebuilding with a franchise C like Zegras playing like how he has, much less trading away that franchise C without getting one back. Even Caufield + Romanov + 1st (idk Canadiens prospects) seems a bit too little when Zegras plays such an important position up the middle (teams like VGK and Minnesota have been seeking #1 C's for awhile now).

Cole does have a chance if he gets traded to a team that won’t ruin his development. Zegras will be fine.
