But not sure Habs do it either. The 2 extra yrs of ELC time for Wright vs giving Zegras a big pay day next summer (with Caulfield also up for a new contract) is a much better fit for their cap situation... And Wright's ceiling is similar to Zegras (or better?) even if the latter is a more known commodity

Agreed, Zegras only put up 60 points at his peak and now is on the wrong side of 20. It's only downhill from here.

I mean he scored more points than anyone else from the 2019 draft. His rookie year was pretty much on par with Johnny Gaudreau's. And like Gaudreau, he had a cold first 5-6 games and then was a 70+ point player the rest of the season (60p in his last 69gp).

How many 20 year old centers are capable of pacing for 70+ points on a team like Anaheim? Not many.

He's proving to be a 1st overall pick caliber player.

60 points on a bad team where he played alot with Derek Grant and Sonny Milano facing the other teams best defensive players

How dare he only have the 2nd most points of anyone in his draft year, including everyone drafted before him except for the #1 overall in the draft. Even then, he's got a higher PPG than Hughes and only 34 less points in 67 less games.

Sounds like sour grapes rather than him actually not being that good as you would suggest. It's pretty clear to most of the hockey world that Trevor Zegras is a star in the making.
