The lock down silence with what is going on with Chara makes me want to get prepared for something more than a minor injury. I was at the game and saw nothing unusual happen.

BOSTON, MA - Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced today, November 23, that defenseman Zdeno Chara suffered a lower-body injury in the second period of the team's game vs. St. Louis on Tuesday, November 22, and will not travel with the team to Ottawa.

The Bruins will provide a further update on Friday, November 25 prior to their game against the Calgary Flames.

Hmmm...

A 39 year old defenseman that plays major minutes and is 1 year removed from a knee injury gets knocked out of the game with a lower body injury. Not good news that he is out and they are waiting 2 days to update his condition.

I wonder who plays with Carlo now.

Kid struggled a bit in the 2nd and seeing guys like Morrow or Liles rotating with him, caused a bit running around in the defensive zone.

I personally wouldn't mind seeing Morrow given a bigger responsibility.

Morrow Carlo
Krug McQuaid
Liles Chiller

I guess docs checking him out and probably a MRI is going to be done as well.

If he is going to be out for an extended time then this season is toast. But I'll hold out hope until there is more info.

I agree, I think Morrow should have got more of an opportunity than Liles.

Hoo boy. This doesn't sound good. This update has my head thinking worst case scenario. Not traveling with the team. Waiting a couple of days for an update. Vague on the details.

All I can think is that they can't run test because of swelling? Or maybe they already ran some tests and want a second opinion. Either way, that doesn't seem like it's good news.

Good thing I'm not a doctor, though, so hopefully it turns out to be a slight tweak. Maybe a pull, twist or slight sprain of something. Fingers crossed for the big guy.

I thought it was amazing the way the team looked after he went down last night. After all the crap that Chara gets for being old, slow and worn down, this defense still revolves around Z it seems.

Just read both Pasta/K.Miller back for tomorrow's game.

I think Chiller is sitting again.

Normally I'd lose it with Colin sitting over Kevan, but in this case the guy going in is replacing some of Chara's role, so it makes sense that Kevan is going in.

Hopefully Kevan isn't being rushed to return with Z going down.

The silence in itself doesn't bug me. They usually try to under promise and over deliver when it comes to injures. If they say 2 weeks, it's often 10 days. If they say 3 months, it could be 2 months, but never 4.

The weird thing to me is that I see NOTHING in the second period shift that would cause any type of injury. That's a little worrisome. It means he might have been playing through something in the first period...or even longer. Hidden or occult injuries can be pretty nasty (cf. Kelly, Chris).
