I feel bad for JF Berube who should be getting his chance with the Kings right now. I don't feel bad for the Kings, though.

Murray is practicing again, which means Condon will probably be available sooner rather than later whether via a trade or waivers.

The Greiss is right!

NYI would be crazy to let him go for only a 5th. Wild got Dubnyk for a third, but he had an unsuccessful track record( though he quietly had a decent half season in ARI). Griess should be worth a second, at least.

Deff would cost more than a 5th, just saying that with our G depth, he can be available

Can we talk about the devastation caused to the Kings' AHL team?

Saturday night they started a rec league goalie who was only there because he's the goalie coach's kid.

The backup?

The 46-year-old goalie coach.

This is where we'll probably see a deal happen. They can either trade for a player or sign a free agent to play in Ontario until the injury situation in LA is resolved.

I think it will be a minor deal to get someone in Ontario, myself.

Makes sense.

Either way, I think the Kings should be talking to Florida - if they want someone to play at both the NHL and AHL level, trade for Reto Berra. If they want someone for the AHL level only, trade for Mike McKenna. I'm sure the Kings could get either one by only sending an AHL player in return.

I could be wrong but i don't think you can trade someone you picked up on waviers in the same hockey year

Players claimed on waivers can be traded so long as one of the following happens:

a) No other team put in a waiver claim at the time. (likely with Condon), or
b) The claiming team offers to "trade" the player to all the other teams that submitted claims, for the $ waiver claim price, and those teams decline.
