I feel like tenure should be considered, like Gretzky is Edmonton, Lindros is Philly, Oates is Washington, Jagr is Pittsburgh, etc.

Jagr, Paul Coffey and Kevin Stevens played in Boston, but they were way past their prime and I’d never think of either one as a Bruin
Oates is a Bruin first, Cap second.

Oates is a weird one because he also had those ridiculous years with Hull in St.Louis even though he didn’t stay long. He has a case to be on all three teams.
For sure. I actually think of him as a Bruin, then a Blue, then Cap actually. His Hull and Neely years were definitely his best. He didn't even get to the capitals until he was 34 years old. Crazy that he was then there for 6 years and STILL bounced around for a few more after that.

Rob Zamuner OP , there are better options.
How about Hasek and Anderson for goalie

Rob Zamuner’s thing is to be placed on elite teams he has no business being on. See 1998 Olympics Team Canada.

He should be on every team in this thread.

Oates is a weird one. I feel like Boston and STL have equal claim as Washington since his best years were in those places.

Edit: see others have made this point.

To your point. If the Bruins got to add Leetch and Coffey to Orr, Bourque, Chara, Park, Shore, Clapper, etc, would be silly. Should at least be limited to “the version of the player on that team”…but the OP is no rules!

Oilers is pretty easy.

Messier - Gretzky - Kurri
Draisaitl - McDavid - Smyth
Simpson - Weight - Anderson
Tikkanen - RNH - Hemsky

Pronger - Coffey
Huddy - Lowe
Gator Smith - Klefbom

Fuhr
Ranford

Would love to make room for
F: Klima, Marchant, Horcoff, MacTavish, Hunter, Guerin
D: Niinimaa, Gregg, Nurse, Bouchard (will be on here soon), Fogolin, a little more than one season of Ekholm isn't enough.
G: Salo, Talbot, Moog
Klefbom? Wtf

I mean OP said no rules - but voluntarily withheld Yashin and Heatley and Hasek. Even Ben Bishop, if evaluated by his peak non-Sens play, would distantly outrank Emery and Lalime.

From memory, I'm sure I've missed someone, and good thing for no rules about tenure.

Sergei Makarov - Joe Niewendyk - Brett Hull
Johnny Gaudreau - Doug Gilmour - Jarome Iginla
Joe Mullen - Kent Nilsson - Jaromir Jagr
Hakan Loob - Dan Quinn - Lanny McDonald

Gary Suter - Al MacInnis
Phil Houseley - Dion Phaneuf
Mark Giordano - Robyn Regehr

Miikka Kiprusoff
Mike Vernon
Love this, but might prefer a shutdown D like Jamie Macoun in the mix.

TOR hasn't had very many top 50 all-time level players (even briefly). The best player to have played for the franchise (all-time ranking-wise) has to be Apps or Conacher. Matthews is already up there among the best and greatest Leafs. At least Lindros and Thornton had short stints with the team.

Busher Jackson - Syl Apps - Charlie Conacher
Lindros - Thornton - Sundin (a lot of meat on that line - would be absolutely dominant down low)
Matthews - Gilmour - Ted Kennedy
Mahovlich - Keon - Sittler or Marner

Salming - Horton
King Clancy - Kaberle
Brian Leetch - Morgan Rielly or Bryan McCabe

Turk Broda
Johnny Bower

Not bad if you have knowledge of the older players.

This shows how far our beloved franchise has fallen: Exactly 2 players on your roster played this millennium. And TBH, I think Price is scratched for Roy.

And the Rocket playing center?

I'll try Dallas, and since there's no rules I'm putting Iggy in for fun.

Benn - Lindros - Iglina
Lehtinen - Modano - Hull
Robertson - Spezza - Jagr
C lemieux - Niewendyk - Pavelski

Seguin, Muller, Carbs, Turgeon, Broten, Gagner, Perry, Morrow, B Richards, Eriksson, Neal, Verbeek, Whitney, Zucc, Nuchiskin, Langenbrunner and more

So many forwards, you could change that fourth line, but I went with 3 playoff performers, and I would love to see that first line wreck havoc in the offensive zone.

Heiskanen - Numminen
Hatcher - Zubov
Lindell - Tanev

Hamhuis, Klingberg, Sweeney, K Hatcher, Nordstrom, Sydor, Souray, Mitchell, Mativchuk and more

Again, lots of D to pick from, I put Lindell and Tanev together as they were a solid shutdown pair, but you could switch Klingberg in there or whoever.

Belfour/Bishop

Bishop was great for us when he was healthy. Turco would be my third choice, and then there's Thomas, Moog, Oettinger, Smith and so on.

A couple of these picks are kind of cheap, but since there are no rules, this one’s just for fun:

Francis Lemieux Jagr
Robitaille Crosby Iginla
Stevens Malkin Kessel
Tocchet Trottier Recchi

Coffey Murphy
Letang Gonchar
Karlsson Zubov

Fleury
Barrasso
Murray (huge part of 2 Cup wins)
stopped reading w/Francis at wing

Uhmmm

I’m not a pens fan by any means but leaving off Zubov and Gonchar as well as Staal is kinda sus
But it was saying by own rules. Gonchar for sure, I forgot him. But 60 games of Zubov before I was born doesn't make it to the list. Its about players I cared most.
