Haula has managed to climb to 37 points now. Not quite as good as last season, but he's much closer to what I was expecting from him than early in the season.
His game has rounded out but he produced at a significantly better rate last year.Jesper Boqvist has come a long way
Assists in line to last year. Defense and all around game everybit as good as I hoped. Goals down a bit, but I think we all figured that total would come down a little.Haula has managed to climb to 37 points now. TV numbers would suggest differently but, Jack Hughes can create some new Devils fans and transcend the franchise like the GOAT Marty couldn't because offense moves the needle more than a goalie does. Hockey fans are a special breed. I think they travel well like football fans but, on a smaller scale. Yeah it's really cool to see yet watch the Rags away games. The blow us out the water but, when an original six team is good they travel extremely well. None the less it's great to see and hear support away from NJ like never before! The Devils have a pretty big fanbase. Obviously not original 6 big or bandwagon big like the Hawks, Caps , Penguins but we have alot of fans spread around North America. I don't think our attendance at home games reflects how big our fanbase is.
I thought Seth's stick mashed him in the face during the fall.Hit his face off the ledge of the boards
Post game he said it was nothing more than a fall

Are you really putting out that jinx right now?Have you considered the possibility of something happening to Vanacek in game? They'd be forced to go with Blackwood, gross.
of inflationZacha at over 50pts
That trade has worked for both teams. We needed veteran leadership from Haula and the Bruins got a versatile player who can be a follower. He's having a good year over there. 76 games played. He's a Tatar (Zacha) level of a NHL forward not bad. Whe we drafted him before Meier and we were hoping he'd be more like Meier and someone we could build the franchise around. This didn't happen until Nico but, good drafting from the Shero era has paid dividens. Missed a little with Zacha but, we also got Bratt and McCloed that year. McLeod is Travis Zajac as a 4C. Who drops the mitts when called upon. Really becoming an unsung hero for this team!Zacha at over 50pts

Yeah this Timo of the last few games is the real deal! Just in time for the playoffs. I think among new system / chemistry issues in the first few games, there probably were some rust and small things still bothering recovering from the injury.
If he keeps this up, it's actually amazing how fast he's fit in relative to our other guys like Tatar, Hamilton and Palat (who still isn't playing like he can).

Can you believe you actually witnessed a Devils game with Blackwood in goal....that resulted in a WIN? lol.First time I’ve ever gone to the away game and not had a SINGLE negative comment said about the team, my jersey, the result, the play etc. Not a single bad vibe thrown my way. In fact multiple positive comments and even the die hard sitting behind me kept yelling Let’s go Hawks and just saying Devils are so much better in every aspect and it should be 12-2 probably.
Gotta hand it to a fanbase like that.
McLeod would do well spending the whole offseason working on his shot. He needs to be able to cash in on more of these ugly goals and quick breaks.
What's your definition of a good 4th line center? Zacha? Actually on this current Devils Squad I'd happily slot Pavel there. The absolute disrespect to compare McLeod to Zajac. McLeod wins faceoffs and that’s it. He’s not a good 4C.
Boqvist's Final Third? His game has rounded out but he produced at a significantly better rate last year.
He does tend to finish seasons strong.
Mcleod is defn a good 4c lol.The absolute disrespect to compare McLeod to Zajac. McLeod wins faceoffs and that’s it. He’s not a good 4C.

I still don't like Wood as a puck carrier, passers, decision maker. I do like his forecheck. I also like Shara on the PK but I don't like his forecheck or board work at all. What's the right mix for the fourth? I don't want a broken Bastian or Lazar.
It’s not fair to lump Dougie in there. Dougie was immediately Dougie. His play didn’t fall off last year because it took him too long to fit in. His play fell off because of the injuries.
That's very true, but even before his injury (January 5) he was not at the level he is now. After his injury he was really struggling, He had 20pts (7g) in 30games pre-injury and 10pts (2g) in 32games post-injury. This close to a ppg 20goal scorer Hamilton this season has surpassed all expectations. Hope he can keep this up for a couple of more years.
