One more silver lining.

That's now 80 games without being shut out
I think that may be a team record.

I was watching some broadcast (probably one of the nationally televised games?) and I don't think it was ours, but they mentioned the Devils hadn't been shutout this year and the furthest they've ever went into a season without getting shutout was 80 games. I don't know if that means we were shutout for the first time of that season in game 80 or if it would have been game 81 that we were finally shutout.

I'm not even sure what year it was.

Unless Buffalo beats the Rangers in regulation on Monday, I don’t think plays Tuesday. He isn’t going to play until home ice is clinched.

If we manage to get shutout now that would be a major embarrment. Shit I he isn't rested and I'm sure he doesn't want to what so ever. Jack could hit 100 points. The division was all but, conceded tonight IMO and unfortunately. Shitstreakin could be just as frustrating as Ulmark was tonight but, the Rags aren't as complete as the Bruins are. I gotta stop with the talking all proud shit before bigs games. It's backfiring on our team!

Great playbook by the bruins on how to neutralize the devils speed and style of play. They have an elite defense, solid team game and vezina level goaltending to do it. Hats off. To think they consistently play like that to win 62 games is impressive and hopefully the devils learn from that.

Having said that, I wanna see what happens when they are down a couple of goals and the devils have a hot start. Also, love Timo Meier on this team, he’s going to be perfect for the playoffs. Dougie really is the softest d man sometimes. Not looking forward to a solid forecheck against him in the playoffs.

Let’s just concentrate on not letting the Rangers pass us.

3 points ensures that, even if the Rangers win their last two. We just need to go 1-0-1. 2-0 would be pretty nice though.

I hope we scalp Buffalo and just completely hump the Capitals, who may have shut down Ovechkin since they have nothing at all to play for anymore and haven’t for over a month now.

The Rangers have Buffalo too and Toronto, who may be resting guys, but they may also give Halak that game or one of these two games.

I think we just need two pts to clinch home ice, as @Emperoreddy pointed out

I think one regulation win clinches which would give the devils 39 regulation wins. If New York wins two regulation games they would be tied at 39 regulation wins. The next tie breaker would be row which the devils have 6 on the rangers

Wait, so if we just get two points, we get home ice, even if the Rangers go 2-0 and tie us in points?

So I guess that means we would have the tiebreaker in that case?

Yes, devils currently have 48 row to the rangers 43

Needs one regulation win to clinch

The row would be used as opposed to the rw because they would also be tied in regulation wins if the rags go 2-0 to jerseys 1-1

So the first tiebreaker is regulation wins.

We have 38 and the Rags have 37. If we get one more regulation win then the best the Rags can do is tie us at 39 so it would go to the second tiebreaker, ROW, which we already have locked up.

So we would also clinch Tuesday if both teams win in OT as the Rags wouldn't be able to pass us in RWs anymore.

We could also go 1-0-1 and clinch home ice without any help.

If that two points comes via a regulation win as that clinched the tiebreaker. Otherwise the magic number is 3 points.

Put it another another way.

We are in full control of our destiny for home ice and we will have multiple ways to clinch it on Tuesday.

But the only way to clinch Tuesday with zero OoT help is a regulation win

A Buffalo regulation vs the Rangers Monday also clinched home ice before we even play Tuesday.

That St. Louis win even in OT on Thursday was big. It gave us some margin of era

What an absolute awful f***ing sports night.

At the Red Bulls game one of our players, the big new off-season signing, allegedly said a racist word on the field to the other team so there was like a 20 minute delay cause of it in the second half. They legit added 21 minutes of stoppage time to the end of the game.

Then I come home to start the Devils game and dog shit Blackwood is in f***ing net. Did the front office pay Lindy to start this loser so we can get the big money match up with the Rangers instead of trying to put a real goalie in net?

And of course Zacha scores 2 f***ing goals.

f*** off.

Powerplays at the start of periods also tend to be awful. The players aren’t warmed up and that hurts offensive plays much more than defensive plays.

PP efficiency goes down over 50%, I believe, when PPs cross periods.
Cmon we had 3.5 min to get going. That is a horrible excuse
