I thought Wood/that line were good early on, at least in the 1st period.

Didn't notice them at all after that.
I did notice Wood standing up to Bostons physical play in the first period when a lot of our other guys (Ryan Graves among them) seemed to be having a hard time adjusting. What the hell was that penalty he took anyway, how did the guy get behind him like that. Really that play helped cost us the game.

Unless Buffalo beats the Rangers in regulation on Monday, I don’t think plays Tuesday. He isn’t going to play until home ice is clinched.
I don’t think the Devils view it as harmful to the team in playing him.

Well the bourbon didn't really help. It just made me fall asleep and miss the game.

The most recent example of a mediocre goalie going somewhere else and now looking good is probably Georgiev this year.

There were a lot of Rangers fans that swore Georgiev was just a victim of not getting into enough games and not playing all that much, and that if he were a starter somewhere he would be pretty good. Not Igor or prime Henrik good, but good.

Grubauer also looked good there before Seattle happened, though evolving hockey has him as a - GSAx in 2 of his 3 seasons there. Money puck I think has him as a negative in 1 of his 3 seasons there. So there was a little foreshadowing.

Georgiev wasn't completely terrible on the Rangers, but he was definitely mediocre at best and seemed to get worse every year there. He started out okay the first couple of years and with each year he got worse. And that was on the same team where Igor had one of the best seasons ever.

Besides the first ten minutes. It was pretty low event hockey. Devils didn’t have that big mistake, besides Mac putting it in his own net.

High Danger Chances was tied, 11-11

All three games vs Boston, we were in it all the way. We may be the only team who can say that.

Need to get ahead of them early. They are built to hold leads, not to chase them.

Teams in order I want in Round 1:

Penguins
Rangers
Panthers
Isles (Sorokin)

At the smallest chance we get Carolina with the Rags winning the division, I'd put them behind the Rangers. Incredible defense, meh offense + goaltending. But even if they lose a series in Round 1, they're going to make it tough on their Metro opponent for round 2.

If we go 11/7 Ruff should be fired immediately

I despise 11/7 but it's not the worst option with Luke drawing in and if McLeod's brains are scrambled. That being said, Lindy hasn't shown an inclination of getting away from it after a win so I'd probably agree.

The penalty that Graves took 2 minutes in, the lost face off starting the power play and then the incredibly soft PK that saw them just shooting-retrieving, shooting/retrieving through traffic. Until Zacha is standing alone behind everyone for a wide open tip.

Literally read your first sentence and I was about to go Bruce Almighty typing up a paragraph with what you basically summarized in the second paragraph. But yeah I don't Blackwood will ever be good, just that we've seen how insane this position is most times. Ullmark should've been on everyone's radar that 2021 year where he went .500 on that abysmal Buffalo team that drafted Power first overall. Literally would've loved him here but we were a year late in improving in net, lol. Also that was we signed every backup then they'd be hurt the following week of camp.

After 81 games and the best finish from the team in forever.

And oh yeah our 4th line center was just KO'd and we want to get Luke Hughes his first NHL game.

11-7 makes plenty of sense.

I'm not that scared of the Panthers, just because their goalies stink.

Bob is about as leaky as a broken condom these days and Lyon is on one of those ''Goalie voodoo benders'' right now, that we sometimes see with these Rocky Balboa ham and egger goalies that usually don't last long. Andrew Hammond is the most famous one of this millennium.

The Devils had one of those in Scott Clemmensen in 08-09 and to a lesser extent Keith Kinkaid in 17-18, who was close to unplayable for the first few months of that year, until Cory got hurt and he started playing every game.

The Panthers might actually be a better team than the Rangers overall.

One thing that's really annoying about the Panthers is that for as unlucky as people say they've been all season, they have some remarkable and almost unthinkable stroke of luck wins this year and tonight it looked like it happened again. I mean, we kind of do too with as many as times as we tied the game with the goalie pulled, but we're still 18 points ahead of that team.

Right before the all star break they were playing Boston. Boston scored what appeared to be a very late game winner with under a minute left in regulation. The Panthers then proceed to pull their goalie and tie the game with 2 seconds left in regulation, then they go on to win it in OT.

Then tonight, they're tied 2-2 in Washington, they Tkachuk scored the game winner with exactly a minute left in the 3rd, then they add an empty netter.

The Islanders are gonna make it too interesting in the first round for whoever they play. I could see them beating Carolina because guess why? Carolina has no goalies that are any count either, unless Kochetkov can deliver. And you know they're not gonna start him in game 1 and they might wait a couple of games of Freddie shitting himself or breaking something before they go to him.
