Be an adult and learn how to analyze a game without blaming the Blackwood mental boogeyman on every single thing. This place is insane.

We got thoroughly smoked, and people are literally saying we sucked because Blackwood is a boogeyman in the players’ heads. It’s very clear that not many here have played competitive hockey. Insane analysis.
Playing in front of a bad goalie absolutely impacts your game and thought process.

I said Schmid has been the best goalie actually, but fine. I watched the game, I showed the heat map and the expected goals. You’re smarter than analytics though.
“Analytics” are whatever fits your narrative. 1 xG against at even strength, 0.5 xGs on the PP that is literally all from a single deflection that Blackie did a nice job of moving out of the way of leaving the whole net open.

I don't understand how Blackwood has any defenders left, including the people that run this team and make decision for this team.

We've seen some BAD goalies come through here since the decline of Brodeur started about 13 or 14 years ago, but Blackwood's last 76 games are worse than the last 76 games that everybody played here. Brodeur's last 76 games here were probably pretty close adjusted for era, but this is worse than Kinkaid's last 76 games here, this is worse than Schneider's last 76 games here.

He shouldn't be here after this year under any circumstances.

Unless he wants to take WAY BELOW his qualifying offer and way below what a team would probably pay him in UFA if we don't tender him, which is unlikely to be more than $1.5 million for 1 year.
I haven’t seen anyone defend Blackwood’s play right now. The entire point is that there’s a lot more wrong than just goaltending. A lot.

Meanwhile Schmid's positioning is so incredible he barely moves after a shot if ever
Not knocking him because he's been impressive and looks to have a bright future, but Schmid gave up eight goals last week in an AHL game.

He is playing the 40th game of the season for the first time in his career this weekend.

Or he didn’t want to start Vanecek in all 3 last games, so Blackwood had to get 1 of them.

It was either this one or Sabres and Blackwood got this one.

The Sabres is a home game. Vanecek might prefer to end the season playing two games in a row.

Vitek was coming off a tough stretch, the Columbus game was definitely about getting him two wins in a row (which hadn’t happened in while).

Both goalies get to play games, that’s how this works.
This does nothing to change my mind it was a dumb move. Only solidify it.

Tonight they need to ease off playing the graves Marino pairing as much as they have. They’ve been the worst d pair by far tonight

1.62 xG is not 1 xG. It’s over 4.5 xG over three periods. #math

Again, I never said this. Im a pretty level headed goalie critic.

But, since you are throwing insults. Look in the mirror and say the bolded to yourself because your fetish of defending a horrible goalie is immature and delusional.

Give up 22 shots in the first period... blame Blackwood!
1: When you play as bad as Blackwood has played for 76 games now, you don't get the benefit of the doubt anymore.

2: When you give up a goal like the second goal he allowed, with the last 76 games he's had, you don't get the benefit of the doubt.

The goalie should be able to bail the team out occasionally.

When Blackwood is in net, not only does he not ever bail the team out, that entire expectation gets flipped on its head and the team is required to constantly bail the goalie out.

I don't know how you can look at the d-zone play in that period and only put it on Blackwood.

Boston loves taking it to the boards and challenging us to overload and leave a man open. And if they lose it, they're back in the NZ choking our speed. We did not have a respectable period at all.

Who is giving him the benefit of the doubt right now?! Everyone universally said the second goal sucked.

1.03 is 1. NST has it as 1.03 at even. Whatever fits the narrative.
