Still stoppable first goal. Goalies stop deflections every game. That hits goalies all the time. Make a save. And it deflected far out.
Since the Xmas break they have 10 losses and 5 wins. They’re down their number one goalie for over a month. Nico is out for who knows how long.
Not after the last month. We’ve burned up our margin for error and the team was actually healthy then. Now we’re not.

What? Who would you draft over Nemec? The only player you can argue about is Cooley but he hasn't cemented himself either. Silayev hasn't even stepped into the league yet and you're bashing him? If that dude pans out he's a complete unicorn. Holtz was a bust and of course Palat's contract money can be better spent but that's not what has handicapped the team. What's killing the team right now is losing McLeod and not finding his replacement. I also think Meier is being completely misused. Dude played his best as a RW and we don't use him there at all. Look at his goal tonight, he went to the right side and sniped it which is what classic Timo from SJ did. We get PP1 and we throw a random player like Tatar out there instead of Timo? It's complete misuse of him. What GM signs a 9 million dollar winger just to not play him on the PP and play him on his off wing?
The 4 minute PP was a clusterf*** because Palat had to go off the ice until his bleeding stopped. So they ended up sending Tatar out and at that point had no one to take faceoffs (it wasn’t until later in the game that Jack started taking faceoffs again). That left everything out of sort. The 2nd unit given all the injuries is just a hodge podge and a mess where know one knew what the others were doing.
We were awfully flat to start tonight, notwithstanding Nico’s absence. And the 4 minute power play misfiring was part of that. In a do over you’d love first of all to have jumped on them there.
I wonder if there was a player who normally plays on our PP who wasn't on it today which may disrupt the flow of things
First goal is entirely on Tatar not getting the puck out of the zone and causing the power play.
And the pass doesn’t connect everyone is bitching about over passing and not getting the puck on the net. I have no problem with him taking the shot there.
Meier is a problem and we lost Zetterlund who is a perfect bottom 6 player for our team. Also, Nemec was a great pick and deserves to be in the lineup over Luke. Nemec first season was better than anything Luke has done.
