If they hadn’t dicked around for a month, a loss like tonight wouldn’t matter, but people who were pooh pooing worrying about making the playoffs might start getting nervous soon now that arguably our two most important players are probably out through the break.

He’s been low key bad for a while. And really the whole season his offensive contribution has been lacking. Love seeing his growth on the defensive end, but buddy your bread and better is the offense. Do that.

He’s been bad since the break. Before the break it took him a bit of time to get going offensively but he was absolutely dominating for about 20 games there.

Especially if the leash for Jake the drain snake is as long as Petey's leash on Hedberg in 2013 was.

And unlike John Hynes, I'm not quite sure that Keefe is one of those coaches that knows which goalie to play. He suggested he may not with the Samsonov stuff last year in the playoffs, which I was roasting him for even before they lost that series.

I will say, I do think they've been playing Markstrom a lot and not playing Allen because they had a good pulse on Allen being a problem since late November. So I have faith that Keefe will see it that way too if this continues, and won't blindly keep Allen in nets if he chokes games like this one.

He put us down 2-0 on two soft goals in the 1st period.

I'll say one observation.

I know our team is better with Keefe so far, but I really miss the way the 22-23 ruff team could come back seemingly on demand at end of games. We had so many comebacks with the 6v5

I mean, the hand was two games ago. He’s been disappointing at even strength all season. Had to give him some grace early coming back from injury, but we’re 50 games in now…
