Young player makes young player mistake, he probably wanted to stay on.

And now, the current episode of BEEFE WITH KEEFE!

As for Keefe one thing he must do is look at tape from the last two years and figure out how to run this team's OT. We are too skilled to be 2-5 in the exhibition with this roster, and in 5 minutes, we don't ever need to play 60% of the roster.

It's literally my only BEEFE WITH KEEFE right now! See you next time.

I mean, I will be THAT guy.

I said in October that the team will get good in December. They did.

This team will get good again once they get over whatever is plaguing the room right now via illness. They will look great in March after a good stretch starting from next weeks Boston game til the tournament. This weekend will be another grind unfortunately.

I aint worried at the moment. Dano meter at a 3.5

I stand by my belief the team takes off post four nations break and gives Washington a solid run for their money for the Metro crown

I say get 3 points this weekend, if not all 4.

Philly are the worst team in the conference (I don't care how many fewer points Buffalo has than them or who else is behind them in the standings) and Ottawa just aren't as good as us.

And you know Allen is gonna be 50/50 in making the Flyers game even harder than it should be.

What illness? There's no evidence anyone else is ill. If anyone other than Noesen has Noro they wouldn't be able to f***ing play.

I can maybe buy into fatigue with the schedule being what it has been up to this point, but any other excuse at this point is just cope.

I absolutely agree with needing to address depth, but this stretch of meh play has been going on since the break.
Well I’m pretty sure Haula was playing hurt before coming out of the lineup and they have played just 3 home games in that span. This issue gets exploited more on the road.

the coach literally has said the last 2 games that there are multiple players who were game-time decisions because of it

but OTHER THAN THAT!

Keefe said two games in a row there were multiple game time decisions due to illness.

Their past three games they played legit cup contenders and got 4 out of a possible 6 points.

You just cannot handle the ebbs and flows of an 82 game season.
3 weeks is a large ebb...also ignoring that this team hasn't really had any extended stretch of great 5v5 play all season.

If the flu is as bad as it's been hinted at (e.g. Keefe spending the last few games talking about "game time decisions" for the roster), it's showing: by the time they got to the back half of the third, they were dragging. Against a potent Toronto forward corps, that's death.

That gives me some hope, at least; all season before this stretch you were able to tell the Devils were a cut above the also-rans of the league because they could skate hard for sixty minutes, while you'd be able to tell which teams just couldn't keep the pace going the full hour. They didn't suddenly forget how to do that, so it tells me the sicknesses around the room are probably taking their toll.

The part that sucks is that they had that shitty, shitty road trip before this, though, when they choked instead of feasting on teams like Anaheim and San Jose. It's just made this whole stretch since Christmas...well, not miserable, they've played plenty of strong games in that time, but the inconsistency and the general fan-PTSD of the last decade-plus has left us all just waiting to be hurt again.

You can see with your eyes that a handful of players have zero first few steps. Its either illness or fatigue from the season. Or a combo. They clearly do not have the same energy or jump as they had in December or November.
