He's been insanely inconsistent, even within the game. Gave up really soft goals while also making really good saves. Can't remember the last time where he was solid the entire game.

Inconsistent is fair criticism for sure. I don't link that with terrible though.

Our goaltending has been perfectly average.

Not really.

Above league average save percentage.

That's because the team doesn't allow very hard chances, they play MUCH better than last year.

And the team goaltending being perfectly average even analytically is pretty much all on Allen being considerably above average.

Markstrom has been as mediocre as it gets. And he's not playing ''Dat Ruff system tho'' and all the excuses from last year. He would have been nearly Vitek bad if the team was as bad as last year. Probably not quite Vitek bad (that was bad), but Daws level.

Expected save percentages on this year's team are CONSIDERABLY ABOVE LEAGUE AVERAGE. Last year they were not.

I know it makes the bottom 6 even more of a black hole…but out Tatar-Nico-Mercer back together with Timo out.

Cotter-Nico-Noesen has been fine. Should've just went Foote 4th line and Tatar into Cotter's spot on the 3rd line. That gives you 3 solid lines.

Yeah, with the one shot he's faced in 8 minutes. If he only faces a shot every 8 minutes for the rest of the night he may not allow another goal on the 5 shots he faces.
