Monahan, Brodie, Tkachuk, and Gaudreau to start. McDavid brings so much outside of just his on-ice presence. It would be a media nightmare only a dynasty could fix.

I don't think I could trade McDavid to Calgary for the entire Flames organization.

Horvat (plus, obviously our star players dont match up 1 for 1 yet) would require a Gaudreau level return. Ditto Tanev. Because this is the HFBoards and we love some futures, Demko, Juolevi and Boeser might have a case made for them being more valuable.

Any of those guys for Pavelski, Carter+, Kopitar, Perry, Getz or Burns too. I really don't know who our main rival is tbh.

When the Jets figure out who their rival is we'll let you know. Minnesota games put me to sleep, maybe St. Louis if going by previous years regular season games or the Ducks because of the playoffs, but even then it's not really obvious. Minnesota probably views Chicago as more of a rival than us, simply because of all their playoff games of late against each other.

Leafs biggest asset - Auston Matthews
Leafs biggest rival - Montreal Canadiens

What I think would be fair for both teams:

MTL gets Auston Matthews, Freddy Andersen
TOR gets Carey Price, Alex Galchenyuk

I think Matthews is more valuable than Price tbh. There is a 10+ year age gap. Price isn't old, and has lots of prime years left, but Matthews isn't even 20 yet.

Obviously Andersen is no Price, but the Leafs don't have a goalie to send besides him.

Basically how I see it

Matthews>>Price>>Gally>>>>Andersen (maybe TO adds something else but nothing big)

Carey Price is not remotely close to as valuable as Auston Matthews... There is another sided you aren't considering which would be marketing ability... A superstar forward like Matthews will sell far more gear and be a face of the NHL, and that absolutely factors into his trade value. No goalie will ever be worth a Matthews caliber player in a trade.

Budget team??we have signed the players we wanted to sign.As for Matthews yes he is damn good ,but so is EK .A number 1 defender is about as impossible to find as a number 1 center.So ill stand by what i said
