Petteri Lindbohm

He's Blues d-chart on #7 spot, he's NHL caliber player, but in St. Louis d-core is so deep.

Calm, read d-zone plays well, is Blues best front of net player (will clean crease), have edge on his game, fatherish style, play simple game, doesn't back up and will play on position. Doesn't have offensive skills, mediocre shot, averege on passing, but does have potential to develope #5 dmen if he would get icetime on NHL.

Lindbohm <-> un/proven forward prospect, but quickly overlooking Sens forward prospect pool there isn't what might be interesting or have some return value for Lindbohm.

Petteri Lindbohm for Matt Puempel ?

What happened to him?

He was in Sens board last year #1 prospect and now he's #12 spot.

Never should have been ranked the Sens #1 prospect in the first place. A more suitable position for Puempel would have been 5th or 6th on that list.

His drop on that list is mainly the result of his performance in his NHL stint in 2015/16. A lot of people were hoping he'd re-establish himself as a potential top 6 sniper, but he didn't do much of anything in that stint. His play with the big club in the 2014/15 season was more impressive, leading people to believe he regressed this year. Given his vastly superior numbers in the AHL this season, it's clear he didn't take a step back in 2015/16. Puempel had close to a PPG and was on pace for around 40 goals in the AHL in 2015/16, despite playing on an awful team.

Pendulum has swung from overrated to underrated. Puempel still has potential to be a decent NHLer, but it seems he won't be the top 6 sniper people were expected when the Sens drafted him in 1st round.

I appreciate for the info.

Almost your writing match-up with Lindbohm. NHL caliber dmen, but is facing too tough competition for icetime in up. I could see swap would be in place with Lindbohm <-> Puempel.

Only problem is that Lindbohm might even win spot in next camp vs. Edmundson who took it from him last year camp. That said Lindbohm was last year #1 call-up from the AHL. We could run in problem with call-up knowing injuries, but I would concider moving Lindbohm, 'cus Blues are thin with forward prospects.

One thing also Schmaltz and Schwartz might be ready pretty soon so his time up could be really slim/problematic in Blues. Ofc you can't forgot how high Blues have ranked Vince Dunn and Jake Walman. Blues are very deep with d-prospect pool so even losing some value in possible 'wash' trade with Sens wouldn't hurt them in bigger picture.

Code:
Jbo - Pietro
Gunnar - Shattery
Edmundson - Parayko
Bortuzzo (scratch)

Lindbohm

Rough estimate possible potential

Sergeev (top4-7 PMD)
Dunn (top3-4)
Schmaltz (top4-6 PPQP)

Mikkola (bottom pair shutdown dmen)
Vannelli (#7-8 dmen)

The thing is do other Blues 'members' see Puempel that kind of caliber player who could eventually crack on Blues roster? Idk, but concerning him to top9 player for NHL, there could be change, but then guys like Barbashev, Rattie and Jaskin are on the line.

If I'm the Sens I just sign Quincey.

He's more than capable as a 6/7 and a real pain in the ass to play against.

Nathaniel Christian Prosser for a 5th. Good 6th/7th guy. Doesn't mind being scratched, always brings his best. Which is bottom pairing quality defensive D. 1y / 625k$ left. Wild has too many NHL-capable D.

I wouldn't exactly call Prosser a defensive dman.

OP for got to mention... Uncle Eugene, is che... very che... INSANELY CHEAP, so no contract longer than 2 yrs and no more than 2M a year in real salary to pay

You don't have to be cheap to not want those contracts. There's a reason every NYR fan on the site is offering those guys left and right.

Our GM once again mentioned that he is in active trade discussions for a bottom pair guy. He mentioned free agency as well.

I suspect he is looking for an upgrade on Borowiecki. So likely a LD , solid pk defense first guy but skates half decently.

Anyone with a suggestion?

Maybe something around Brandon Davidson and Ceci ? No even sure if I would do it . We do need a RHD with PM abilities and Davidson is not the sexy name a teams fan base knows but he just a solid D that can skate , hit and shoot the puck . Both teams probably decline this one .

Yeah, but Quincey has to agree to sign as well. There's a chance he may not like the number he's offered.

Thing is, Ottawa is looking for one more defenseman. No room to deal Ceci unless it's for an upgrade on him as well.

Worst Case, Ontario
Ottawa has some NHL capable depth on the left in case of injuries but the right side looks very unhealthy with 1) Wideman potentially in a top 4 spot; 2) Kostka on the roster at all; 3) no one of note behind them on the depth chart.

I'm leaning toward the bottom pair guy they're looking for being a righty.

Karlsson
Ceci
Wideman
Kostka

...seems to me like Wideman would be on your third pair with Kostka in the press box.
