Not a Blues fan but Petteri Lindbohm should be available I think. Fits the bill and is NHL ready.

Ottawa has some NHL capable depth on the left in case of injuries but the right side looks very unhealthy with 1) Wideman potentially in a top 4 spot; 2) Kostka on the roster at all; 3) no one of note behind them on the depth chart.

I'm leaning toward the bottom pair guy they're looking for being a righty.

Our GM once again mentioned that he is in active trade discussions for a bottom pair guy. He mentioned free agency as well.

I suspect he is looking for an upgrade on Borowiecki. So likely a LD , solid pk defense first guy but skates half decently.

Anyone with a suggestion?

Nick Schultz. He's a UFA after 16-17 and cap hit is $2.25m, but the Flyers could retain half if that's too expensive for Ottawa.

I wish the Flyers didn't need Meatshield for expansion purposes, or I'd say Ottawa could have him for next to nothing, a 7th Rounder seems fair for Meatshield.

When Ceci's contract is signed and everyone is healthy Wideman is clearly the 3rd guy on the right side. The problem is there isn't a clear 3rd guy on the left. I would agree that more depth on the right side wouldn't hurt, either, but the more pressing need is for someone to play with Wideman on the 3rd pair. Kostka isn't on the roster at all. If he ends up there it's because at least 3 other guys had incredibly disappointing training camps.

I think we should just sign Jackman or Quincey, no need to give up something of value when there are quality players out there we can get through free agency.

Nah, corrado's better than a conditional 6th.

If the Leafs were to go into the season with the exact roster they have now. I think Corrado would be the 8th defenseman and most likely player on the roster to be sent to the minors to make room in the event they acquired another NHL player.

I think the Leafs will make pitches for Vesey and Russell. I see Quincey as a guy that might be brought in on a PTO to battle Corrado for a roster spot. He has a history with Babcock.

If any of those players sign, Corrado loses his roster spot. A pick at that point is better than exposing him to the wire. Obviously, there is time to evaluate the situation as things start to unfold.

A bag of pucks will get you a 6'4 Jonathan Ericsson, Please take him off our hands.

I'm actually OK with this but a sensible deal would need to happen, we are a budget team who can't take contracts like some can.

Would the wings be open to any combination of:
Salary retention?
Trading for Boro?
Giving us one of your next two seconds?

I know he's slowed down, but you could do a lot worse for a 6/7 d-man than Dennis Seidenburg. Still a UFA...

I'd go for Quincey personally but Dillon would be my choice if we were to target someone on the trade market.

Petteri Lindbohm

He's Blues d-chart on #7 spot, he's NHL caliber player, but in St. Louis d-core is so deep.

Calm, read d-zone plays well, is Blues best front of net player (will clean crease), have edge on his game, fatherish style, play simple game, doesn't back up and will play on position. Doesn't have offensive skills, mediocre shot, averege on passing, but does have potential to develope #5 dmen if he would get icetime on NHL.

Lindbohm <-> un/proven forward prospect, but quickly overlooking Sens forward prospect pool there isn't what might be interesting or have some return value for Lindbohm.
