I can't tell if you're trolling or not. This is your fifth post about one play - do you have any other criticisms about Marner's game tonight? Or is it just that one play that's led you to conclude he doesn't care about losing?

it's a play to seal the game. It was kind of important....just not for him. He wanted it to look extra extra nice.

in the end, it comes down to killer instinct and finish. He does not have an exit strategy to all his work. All his work is to be put in so that in the end they score and they win. He gets to that point, but still wants to play around instead of finish. I don't get it. There's been lots of players like that. I hope he develops the eff this attitude and wants to score and win at all costs. He's not there yet.

You are hilarious. The guy has been arguably our best player through the first 5 games. You question his killer instinct and finish. Last year he tore the CHL apart winning every individual award and leading his team to the Memorial Cup, stepping up his game at each stage as the games became more meaningful. Sometimes players make an extra pass when they should shoot, but to base your rant on that one play is kind of silly. He has not been afraid to shoot the puck thus far. He has 14 shots through 5 games, which is pretty good for a pass first guy in his first 5 NHL games.

nope, that's not my style so I don't know where you get this feeling from. I just know that there are players that are drafted that play in the nhl and just worry about the dangles. The dangles, the dangles, and making everyone look bad while they look pretty. That's what mitch looks like to me because everyone bowed down to him in London and he just wants praise. Who was that guy that played in Edmonton and the Islanders? He was the prettiest of them all. Everyone ranted and raved because he had hands of gold. In the end he didn't do a thing.

If dangles was all he cared about he would be floating on D trying to cherry pick, not blocking shots and playing much better defensive hockey than the 2 veterans on his line. His dangles create the space for everyone else on the ice.

Lots of Leaf fans have a loser mentality. Even if we blew another 4-0 lead, people here would be celebrating the fact that we had a 4 goal lead to blow.

Exactly....i really think a lot of the fan base just can't handle negativity after so many years of failing and want to tell themselves this is all normal for a young team.

i get it, but isn't that all pointless if a great opportunity presents itself he reverts to doing all those things again?

the goal he scored in game 2 was a play with a pissed off guy that had to play second fiddle to Matthews in game one. The pissed off player is much better

It's pretty bad, they pretend to take the "high ground" too which makes it even more laughable.

Did Babcock or anyone comment about the refs? That was brutal and it seemed like Babs was giving them the death stare

Also please stop scoring 4 goals. Worst ****ing curse

Bozak line easily the best line of the night, the Matthews line the most efficient.

Other 2 lines came up short.

What are we expecting from the other two lines though? Kadri is flanked by two stone handed, low offensive IQ players, and the 4th line just needs not to be a liability.

I thought Bozak was an anchor again. JVR had a nice bounce back game.

We are tanking because Babcock doesn't know how to coach this team. Give him Winnik and Parenteau, we don't need these kids playing. Fire him next season and hire someone who knows how to win with talent.

F***ing guy puts Holland on Penalty shoot, puts Polak and Hunwik on 4v3. This guy is straight up pathetically making this team awful followed by Andersen.

That was a fun game, until the last 2 minutes of the 3rd. Kids a playing fantastic. How anyone can't be excited for their performance so far is a mystery to me. For their sake I hope they figure out how to close these games. They're playing well and deserve the wins.

Babcock blaming vets in his post game comments. This has nothing to do with being a young team.

I honestly don't know what half of you guys are expecting when other teams have Doughty/Petrolango/Keith/Weber/Subban/Hedman etc on the ice in the last min of the game.. and we have Roman Polak and Matt hunwick.. 2 bottem 6 d-man..

Andersen played solid that game.. You guys pick apart everygoal that gets scored on him but he played well again for us.. I suppose he was supposed to stop the first goal aswell..

did people really expect to go to Chicago and win? :s

No but after the amazing performance by Mathews, Nylander and Marner we were like Oh my God we are going to win!

Anderson was solid. Now we are thinking it's in the bag.

Then the vets took over. Couldn't box out or chip it down in the other end.
They decided to take a dump on another great performance by the babies.
No wonder we sucked that much!

He's been one of our best defensive forwards, and the play you're complaining about was him passing rather than dangling.

He has great hands. That's not a reason to be nervous...
