I could even see Nuke forcing his way into the Russian top 6 because Semin was left off. Could be playing next to Malkin or Datsyuk.

Nuke next to either of those guys would be such a huge learning experience for him. This kid is destined for greatness.

I think I also may buy his Russian jersey. Been a lonnnnnggg time since I've bought one, but this is just too cool.

I could see Benn doing the same thing on that somewhat odd roster Canada selected.

Err, those are horrible. Just like all the jersey except Sweden (because we didn't change much, not homer on this one).
Sorry, my mistake. I meant the white one. That's my favorite.

I had Val #5 in my draft but said he was VERY close to being in that elite top 4 and have only been even more impressed every time I watch the kid play. You guys got yourself a god damn gamer and he's only 18. Congrats Stars fans. You guys are incredibly lucky. :)

I can't believe Rick Nash and Chris Kunitz are going to Sochi, while Claude Giroux and Martin St. Louis sit at home. :help:

What a joke.

Good to see El Capitan make the cut, though!

And NUKE!!! :D

Kunitz deserved it in my opinion.

The Toronto Sun actually had a decent writeup on Seguin, and how he's grown since the trade......I didn't realize this but he's 2nd in the league (and tied for 1st among Canadians) in goals scored on the road.

Think that might have been useful in Russia? Who knows? ;)

Hamhuis over Seabrook is just Pejorative Slured. No other way to describe it.

They wanted 4 LHD and 4 RHD.

I'm happy Benn made Team Canada, but I honestly think Seguin should have made it too (over a guy like Nash). Not trying to be a homer, but he can play C and RW, great skater (big ice), and he's one of eight players in the NHL with at least 20 goals and 20 assists.

agree
he is a much better player for this kind of tourney than nash or giroux (who would be the competition of snubs)

I wonder if Benn will play every game. Same with Nichushkin I suppose. And Kari

In regards to Benn, I suppose he doesn't seem like a player they would pick to take over there and then not play him. Carter may get the forward scratch? or maybe Nash? Kunitz?
