I can't see more than this. Cody will come out on Monday like a super nerd and claim he wants to be a fighting champion and Seth made such a compelling argument yada yada yada.
theres no way to save this at all wwe is making him look like a complete idiot after 2 years saying he needs that one title to switch at last minute lol. if i was him I would be seriously pissed with some people backstage.

I find it hard to believe that Rock v Roman is a new development. But even if this just fell into their lap earlier this week, you HAVE to run Rock v Roman at Mania if you’re able to.

But then just a few days ago Seth pretty much said he didn’t care about Seth or his title. So i have no idea what the hell they’re thinking here

It would appear the plan was for Punk to win and challenge Rollins. Then rock v Roman, with Cody as the backup

Don’t hate the idea for Cody to challenge Gunther either…provided Gunther wins.

The beginning of the Cody/Rock embrace seemed like Cody was dead inside until Rock pulled him close and said something in his ear. The storyline is supposed to be that it was a mutual decision or a Cody approved decision or whatever so Cody should have been happier, more up-beat when that embrace began. Is it a storyline hesitancy so they still end up with a triple threat? Is he disappointed and couldn't hide it for those moments? Is he pissed and thinks this is dumb? I don't know, maybe Cody always looks dead inside but if you focus on him in those moments it seemed like he wasn't happy or he was trying to act like he wasn't happy.

f***ing hell 40 was shaping up so good a month ago too. Got driven off a truck
Losing Punk v Rollins, and Brock v Gunther is brutal.

Agreed. He looked like he was having a hard time feigning excitement. Rock probably said something about Dusty, cuz Cody was shaken up leaving the ring

They didn’t call Dwayne in the last 4 days, he don’t play like that. They had to know about Dwayne at least going back to Thanksgiving.
Then none of their storytelling makes any sense.

This has to be a recent development where Rock finally gave them a definitive "yes" but they had been planning for Cody all along and said "f*** it" no more Cody.

I'm no Cody fan but I'd rather that story instead of Rock trying desperately to catch his breath and not tear every muscle in his roided up body. Even worse if the guy actually wins.

And we have done Seth/Cody. It was a great trilogy, but it's done. Seth lost every match including one where Cody's pec was torn. Zero reason to run that back again for real.

Also to have Roman run down the WHC title himself tonight. Cody seemingly just handing the main event to someone else and leaving the ring like a puppy.

That's just such super f***ed booking.

You can't do a year's worth of Finish the Story booking. Have him win the Rumble and point straight at Roman...and then say "nah, never mind". That's dumb

They had Dwayne on TV on New Year’s Day, he’s not showing up to tease a match with anybody without a clear direction, and more importantly in adherence to his schedule - which either is or would otherwise get busy with the UFL relaunching.

He should have been #30 and won the Rumble then.

There is literally zero reason to have Cody go back to back to do it like this.

Again, then, the entire year of storytelling is utter insanity and shows either TKO is going to be super hands on whenever they feel OR Trips doesn't know what he's doing.

To me, it's the former.

Roman is going to pass Hogan at this point. Just ham fisted way to do it.

Just don't have Cody win the Rumble. It at least fixes a lot of the logic issues about this even if it's still f***ed for Cody on a shoot level

I mean we can talk about how that all unfolded, someone’s gonna have to report on it. We saw Punk get hurt in the Rumble, what happens if that happens to Dwayne? They’re not gonna think ‘well, if he gets hurt, at least we get to go back to Cody’

It should just be for the belt and Roman wins. Let him pass Hogan at this point if this is the direction they are going

Having Cody somehow use his Rumble win to take the belt off Roman at EC is dumb.

Wrestlemania is billed as a spectacle. The whole idea is to make it as big as possible. Cody wasn’t even in the company when they were planning Roman/Rock.
