The whole thing was about Cody/Roman, that's the match. If anything, Austin might have made sense last night when the Rock was actually on the card.

Roman never got anything for WM33. They never crossed paths again. Taker was infamous for his receipts both in kayfabe and for real.

You can prefer Austin, that's fine, but the storyline sense with Undertaker is like, right there.
Fun fact nobody remembers: Roman and Undertaker did a tag team match, as teammates, at Extreme Rules in 2019, against Drew McIntyre and Shane McMahon.

Which OPENED the show proper.

But the match wasn’t, and that’s what I hated about it. Should’ve wrestled 5 minutes, done the 10 minutes of bullshit, cleared the ring and then finished with Cody v Roman 1 on 1 for another 10-15.

Hated the booking here. I can’t stand Cody sometimes, but i think the right move was for him to win. I just think it should’ve been done much differently.

But I’m just a random ass mark, so my opinion doesn’t mean shit. I get it

I don't know, I'm as much of a "just get in there and wrestle" guy as anyone I know and I absolutely loved it.

It was an absolute clusterf*** of a title run, with a video game character champion, and his run ending was the end of era for this company. It had to be stupid, and it was stupid in the best way.

I will say this, I hope this title change brings us back to normal champions defending their normal belt on normal PPV's instead of Zeus and Kratos throwing mountains at each other every title match.

It was the perfect Avengers Endgame moment to bring us back to some normalcy.

Though I agree with the general idea of having Wrestlemania being the no filler, no bullshit one night format, they're never going back to it. Having two nights is just too much of a money maker for them. We're talking millions of dollars of revenue for them and the host cities. Pretty soon I wouldn't put it past them if Summerslam and the Royal Rumble became two night affairs as well. A major PLE every 4 months.

That all said, night 2 was the better show in all regards. I see Priest's title run being short. Drew is going to win it at Backlash and they're doing Drew-Punk for the title at Clash at the Castle or Summerslam.

I wouldn't blow Gunther on the first program for Cody, but I'm having a hard time seeing who's the first challenger. Maybe Randy turns? Solo or Jimmy would be boring and predictable. I'd mark for MJF....

You figure that there's a heavy hitter going to Raw to tip the scales if Cody is going to be on Smackdown. Wonder who goes...

Because they want to make betting available
I'd quit my job in the medical field tomorrow if you told me I'd be hired on the spot in any way by WWE if that happens. I'd be able to retire in months off off the bets I'd be able to make knowing the outcomes.

The only way I see it working is if they only allow it on a shoot wrestling promotion. Gable vs. Cody in a shoot match? I'd bet on that.

It already is over here in Europe but the odds are fairly useless to play. The Åland based PAF had them previously but I don't have any money in their account currently.

I'm just hoping he cooks something good for Raw after Mania because AFAIK they've been disappointing for a long time.
Considering Vince ruined last year's show by getting involved in creative, hard not to top it.

That wouldn't even make sense with people who read dirt sheets and other stuff, lol. Meltzer would have to be muzzled lmao

Yeah it wouldn't make sense at all

If you were to play the prediction game here, how often do you win that?

Funny thing is that Paul Levesque is more predictable than Vince.

I don't remember, but did Cody ever use the belt in either of his matches? If not, it seems quite odd that the Rock put a lot of emphasis on the belt but Cody didn't turn the tables and use it instead. I know he used it on SmackDown before WM though.

Perhaps. It's a totally different style of booking. HHH prefers the longer, more formulaic story based title runs. Vince was like a 6 year old on cocaine when it came to booking, some of it was wildly fun and entertaining but there were also big time duds too.

The product has been more consistent so far since Vince was ousted, and that's what makes money.

Was surprised Cody didn’t bleed all over the place, but in the end it was probably the right call. His moment can be looked back at forever without heavy editing, omissions of truth, or filters. It can just be “this happened. This is what it looked like. This was the aftermath”

On the whole it was the right move, but i will forever believe that a cleaner 1 on 1 contest would’ve been better in the end. Don’t mind the shenanigans. They just should’ve been sooner, and over and done with long before the final minutes of the match

They can still do a match with a clean finish.

They’re going to rematch this at some point, and presumably one where Cody picks the stipulation.

Cody got tagged by everyone in the Bloodline. Super kicked by Jimmy, spiked a couple times by Solo, Rock tagged him. But no one on Cody's side touched Roman once.

It was fun. I won’t argue that. Didn’t like the finish but the match was fun
