wtf?I mean he "broke it" SHORTLY before it was announced on twitter. Wow, amazing "sources" he has.
you realize someone has to break the news right?

Did you miss the news the next day where he called teammates and apologized and explained it was more of a miss understanding than anything else? If you did then have a little read....To me its all on Patrik. He said, he wasn't used properly, and threw players and coaches under the bus.
He has to apologize and then work.
Got his mixed with Tavares. My argument still stands.
Man that would be great for the Jetswhat if laine has two 50 goal seasons?
I was gonna call tomorrow but figured they'd wait till Monday after the weekend.I'll call tomorrow. Connor doesn't have as far to travel back to Winnipeg, but all hints are they are close enough to grind out a deal fairly soon.
I'm guessing the negotiations are on going at this point and the day of the week is meaningless. The sooner a deal the sooner Connor gets to join the team.I was gonna call tomorrow but figured they'd wait till Monday after the weekend.
According to what? The most we've heard about Minnesota is from Russo, and that was that there was no actual offer sheet. Just some trade talk.It was Columbus and Minnesota. I believe columbus' was 13x5 and Minnesota's was 10x3
Your argument loses a lot of validity when you don’t even know how long your player is signed for. Makes it look very biased
The one advantage is Laine's QO is 8.25M when the 3 year guys QO starts at 9.9M. With Laine having something to prove I think it was a smart decision by the Jets.that high of an AAV for 2 years
I would expect at least another year.
Laine QO will be $7.5M, assuming that the 2nd year is all in Base Salary (and not signing bonus). The one advantage is Laine's QO is 8.25M when the 3 year guys QO starts at 9.9M. With Laine having something to prove I think it was a smart decision by the Jets.
Laine's qualifying offer will only be $7.5 M, there is no percentage increase if the base salary is over $1M.The one advantage is Laine's QO is 8.25M when the 3 year guys QO starts at 9.9M. With Laine having something to prove I think it was a smart decision by the Jets.

Same for Laine. He stays for 2 years and sees what his usage is.A two year "show me" contract. Probably the only smart thing that Winnipeg could do. Anything longer and for more would be a HUGE gamble for Winnipeg. Glad to see thats done with... now on to Kyle.
Winnipeg is going to bleed on the next deal
What are you talking about? Or are you just being loupiHow have you been here since 2016 and not understand how any of this works?
No not when they don’t spend to the max.The Jets have the same salary cap as every other team in the league no matter the size of the market, so a bad contract is no different for them than any other team.
It was Columbus and Minnesota. I believe columbus' was 13x5 and Minnesota's was 10x3
Do you not know why they were under the cap before? Do you not realize why it was needed now? Do you know how rich the ownership of the Jets is?No not when they don’t spend to the max.
Yea such a shame to have a top 5 team loaded to the brim with talent and most of that talent signed longer than a bridge deal..Shame on them and me as a fan. Excuse me while I go cry it off.
Oh wait I'm good. Plus if it's not working out, there's always trades..never mind, shame!
The real shame is what happened to pegs defense and the fact that no one seems to want to play for them.
He isn't going anywhereI don’t think this deal will be a deterrent to Laine being traded. If he signed with a NMC or a contract so big, he was unmovable, then yeah.
With this deal, he’s very tradable. And if he continues to have team chemistry problems, he might get dealt. A two year deal at that salary may be palatable for many teams.
