Would you trade Kyrou for Dobson?

No. Kyrou is going to be a much better value for his contract than Dobson will be on his new deal.

Kyrou at his AAV is going to be prime real estate in a season or two.

Better yet, let's just keep our best offensive player this season when we already suck on offense.

Robbing Peter to pay Paul. Dobson will probably ask for 2-3mil more than what Kyrou is locked in at for 7 more years. I wouldn't mind trading for Dobson but we need to add more offense and you don't do that by trading your best offensive piece.

Yes assuming he will sign an 8 year extension and it isn't completely unreasonable.

I would prefer not to trade Kyrou in a Dobson deal and deal futures but if it's what it would take then yes.

To start the year absolutely. Now, i would pass. Kyrou has shown he can make any line he's on better and has had better 2 way play. His contract will be a bargain starting next year, once Marner and Rat sign somewhere in the offseason. Dobson, while great offensively isnt elite in his own end, i think we could find a PP QB without giving away our current top offensive piece.

No, Dobson screams "all offense no defense" this fan base will turn on him in 3 years. Especially if he gets paid 9.5+mil a year.

This is what I'm thinking. I'm open to trading Kyrou in the right deal, but not for an offensive defenseman who will likely demand more money than Kyrou.

There’s a lot of “if”s, but I’d be open to the idea in theory.

His age matches with a Thomas core and we need a RHD and PPQB bad. Just don’t want to give up Kyrou for him. We need to add to the core not subtract. So “No” overall, if his contract ask is reasonable or if NYI would take futures and prospects it be any easy yes. It’s a hard choice.

I’m not sure how trading our best offensive player helps us, but we did trade Shanny for Pronger and that worked out ok.

No mention of a contract in place so I voted no, if he was signed to a reasonable extension I would change my vote to yes

straight up, heck no, kyrou's the better piece now and potentially for the future

dobson has a lot to prove, send them neighbors and a prospect
