Would we have made the playoffs without a coaching change?

No. Under Julien we lose against Florida, Chicago, and Tampa. We never bounce back from that 4 game losing streak.

Not a chance.

Give Sweeney credit for moving on from a cup-winning coach and giving this team exactly what it needed most.

We will never know.

Fact is, they are in while many thought they wouldn't.

The Bruins are trending up. I feel a 08-14 type of run is upon us.

Congrats Bruins! Now, let's make a run at it!

Don't think so. We were in a pretty bad spot when Julien was released. It took some serious winning streak under Cassidy for the team to (barely) make it. That's not a knock on Claude, but the team didn't have any sense of urgency left under him. Sometimes parting ways is the right move and I am glad it seems to be working out well for him too, despite it being with the Scabs.

And I think all parties can agree to thank the Pats. This wouldn't have been possible without them and their parade.

its a definite no but my answer will remain that it's not Claude coaching that is the problem it's the fact he was just here to long and the message ran stale which is completely normal. The team got a jolt from the change, players woke up and Cassidy did a good job...
Kudos to all involved

Zero chance. Thank god Sweeney had the stones to make the move, should have happened at the end of last year, but better late then never.

Wow, I'm surprised at how lopsided the poll is so far. I thought some people would think it's only up to the players to make the playoffs, etc..

But yeah, I don't think we would have made it in with Julien. The team felt completely stuck and predictable.

Can't see how anyone could honestly vote yes.

And now Sweeney gets credit for the firing, although at the time many posters wanted to fire Neely for forcing it on Sweeney (with help from Sinden & Jacobs & Putin....).

It's possible only because Bergeron, who was injured, started to turn his play around. That was equally as important.

Claude got stale with this team and it showed. He had people in his corner, and others not.

I think the move was necessary to motivate the right players, and the change in style helped out immensely. Let's see what the post-Claude post season looks like.
