Don't think so. We were in a pretty bad spot when Julien was released. It took some serious winning streak under Cassidy for the team to (barely) make it. That's not a knock on Claude, but the team didn't have any sense of urgency left under him. Sometimes parting ways is the right move and I am glad it seems to be working out well for him too, despite it being with the Scabs.
And I think all parties can agree to thank the Pats. This wouldn't have been possible without them and their parade.
its a definite no but my answer will remain that it's not Claude coaching that is the problem it's the fact he was just here to long and the message ran stale which is completely normal. The team got a jolt from the change, players woke up and Cassidy did a good job...
Kudos to all involved
And now Sweeney gets credit for the firing, although at the time many posters wanted to fire Neely for forcing it on Sweeney (with help from Sinden & Jacobs & Putin....).
Claude got stale with this team and it showed. He had people in his corner, and others not.
I think the move was necessary to motivate the right players, and the change in style helped out immensely. Let's see what the post-Claude post season looks like.
