Hot & horny? :skeptic:

What the hell?

He also puts piss and vinegar in his pants. The only explanation I've got is New Brunswick must be Canada's Alabama.

P. S. it's just a joke.

I'm gonna sleep like old Craig tonight!
If I were Old Craig that sentence would scare the sh@t out of me. How do you know how Old Craig sleeps? You watch him?:sarcasm:

Good things about tonight, Buffalo won and we're 22nd now, Vancouver and Ottawa are on good runs lately, have a game in hand on us, 1 win and they each pass us, Nashville ain't having the same kind of success, but they have 2 games on us, 1 win and they pass us. For all we know, all of a sudden we could drop to 25.

Also, Florida sitting at 20, that unprotected 1st still looking good.

MSL is putting Drouin in a position to be the most hated player in Montreal. This isn’t all on the haters, MSL has his share of responsibility.
Not trying to defend neither Drouin or St-Louis, but to be fair ; Drouin was the most hated player on this board the day he got aquired by Bergevin. The hatred started before he even touched the ice .
In hindsight, people were right ; Drouin isn’t cut out to handle the pressure in Montreal.
You have to wonder if his career would have gone to crap so abruptly if he played in a smaller market.
I pointed out a while back that he reminds me so much of Alexandre Daigle in a certain way ; great talent but lacking the drive and the love for the game….he’s looked burnt out almost from day 1.
But even when we realize Drouin is a bust, that does not explain the level of hatred . Honestly, Armia, Dadonov, Hoffman, Gallagher, Evans, Anderson, Matheson etc.. are all playing way subpar of their contract and potential .
despite this cast of entitled vets, the team has been overachieving so far because of a bunch of great kids and a soft schedule.
I‘m certain 100% the plan from day 1 this year was to try and showcase the veterans in order to get 1st round picks; heck, no later than last week Hughes said it ; he wants more 1st round picks. So I’m giving St-Louis a freebie this year, he’s coaching according to the plan.
But at some point, you have to realize that whipping a dead horse won’t make him run faster.
Personally, I’ll ‘try’ real hard to stay level headed for what the rest of the season is gonna bring. Hard times head fellow Habs fans.

The hatred was mostly born out of the preferential treatment by both the Habs and media, but also the complete hypocrisy of the GM trading away a fan favorite and heart&soul player by saying he wants players who hate to lose, only to further down the road trade our best prospect for a heartless bum who doesn't even have 1/100th of the drive and passion Subban had.

I said bottom 5-10 or 8-12 range all summer long and even after the good start, I'm still saying it. Hoping it's the lucky #7 lottery ball.

Game last night was meh. Expected more but OK with the L.

52 games left, a lot could change still, but we've been sitting in that 8-12 range for a long time now, hope we'll at least stay there and not go on a tear. Hopefully get into that 5-10 one for good. And Florida holding that 8-12 range would be the icing on the cake...

Didn't your parents teach you not to lie? The Drouin trade was one of the most approved trades made by Marc. Go read the trade thread.

He was traded at age 22 I believe?

His 2nd half of his age 20 season showed his potential when Stamkos got injured and Drouin had a good playoffs that year.

His age 21 season was yet again a good step forward.

We traded a prospect we got to see play a few games for us where we knew he had potential for a 22 year old who was on the uphill trajectory at that time.

Even though Drouin struggled at center in that 1st season with us, he was still a better player then vs what he is now. He digressed in his time with the Habs. Saying you knew this would happen today is hindsight

Doubt we go on a tear. I see more win one loose one, win two, loose two type stuff. There could be a few loose 3 streaks but doubt there will be as many win 3 streaks. Loose 4 or more in a row? Possible but this group is resilient so I think they avoid it.

Once again tonight, Allen goes Two Spot in seconds....................and at the end of the game while we try to tie it up, we have Drouin give the puck to a guy who scores an empty netter.............the night before he has the puck scoot by him in the last few seconds of trying to tie it up.
MSL will learn from this we hope.......#27 is terrible as the point guy on the PP or with the goalie out......

There is no way they should lose to the worst team in the league, who after almost 30 games had won only ONE regulation win, and walce into the Bell Centre and beat the Habs......this is a real low point, to this season.....

Burrows and the PP? I have no words.......we did get one, but seriously, 1 for the last 26-27 tries?
They have once again become the Jekyll and Hyde predictable team they were under the last regime, need a morale booster when you're a crappy team come play the hopeless habs they will be glad to accommodate you.

To be fair, we're supposed to suck this year, unlike last seasons. It's just that our early success seems to have blurred the vision of many.

At a certain point we have to accept that our vets are useless and no one is trading for them.

I'm guessing it's more of an energy level management thing for Slaf on the back to back.

Agreed. Even if Drouin or Dadonov somehow puts up 20 points in 20 games, it won't mean shit to other GMs. These plugs have been in the league long enough and playoff teams aren't looking for Drouins, Dadonovs or Hoffmans to help a playoff run.

7 wins from Oct to Dec 31 last season was not likely to happen again. Truth is in the middle. We are not as bad as we showed last season (but we will take it) and we are not as good as it appears this season.

A lot went wrong last season.

If they are.. we are retaining and only getting back like a 4th round pick. Like there's a world where some of those fringe teams will flip a meaningless pick to add one of those guys and hope to go on a run.. but it's nothing that matters considering the depth of our prospect pool and quantity of picks to use.

100% agree. It's different with Monahan but thinking we would get something for Drouin, Dadonov and Byron was wishful thinking.

Hoffman shouldn't be grouped with the other two though. He has more value than Drouin and Dadonov and it's not just due to his extra year in term. There is a chance someone takes Hoffman for a 3rd rounder

If we retain on either of Edmundson or Monahan, we won't have room to retain on Drouin, Dadonov, Hoffman.

We're moving away from the one-one, two-two sequences. We're 2-4-1 in our last 7, heading into 6 weeks of tough schedule. 20 games where we're more likely gonna repeat our ,350 of the last two weeks.

And that's not counting probable players traded out

I think that for now, both Edmundson and Hoffman (I guess) are more valuable to us anyway, if Joel could regain his play from last year, it would be great, while for Hoffman everybody in the league knows what his strengths and flaws are, but I guess next season would be best, too, as a rental.

Monahan I hope we trade him at 50% for a late '23 1st, but his ankle injury is worrying... another one to add on the pile I guess.

Drouin/Dadonov at 50% could net a B/C prospect or a late pick, who knows, I know I'd prefer a prospect.

How many contracts can we retain on, 2 or 3 ? Don't remember.

Truth is in the middle. I think we fall in the 0.400 - .500 winning % range in the end. You are hoping it slips to .350 and have cherry picked the 7 games as good timing. However, it's going to be a rollercoaster ride

According to the schedule narrative, we should have won last night. But that was a back/back game where the Ducks were playing after loosing 7-0 to the Leafs and 3-0 to the Sens.

Does your tough schedule factor in other circumstances for other teams who have back/back games, possible injuries, and bad or good momentum/confidence?

I agree we slip. We may not agree how much we slip though

We don't have cap space to retain 50% on all of Monahan, Drouin, Dadonov. Hughes will try his best to create as much cap space as possible from now till deadline but it's not the same cap space as we had last year.

I really don't care about Drouin and Dadonov at this point. Let them expire but if a team calls, take whatever you can get. Not worth our time trying to get something of value for them. Even if we have room to retain 50%, they are not the type of pieces teams will consider a solutions on wing for playoff hockey.

Monahan is tricky. Sign him or trade him. I think that depends on Hughes gaging the market cause if we can get a 1st and B prospect, do it. But if it's a 2nd, I'd consider signing him.

We can retain on 3 contracts.

Losing but putting an effort in is one thing but being unprepared for games both on the players/coaches part and putting crappy players in a situation that they haven't succeeded in for so long and expecting a different result is another.
