I attended the 2003 tourney in HFX. On paper that was a pretty weak Canadian team yet they still grabbed a silver. Fleury was the headliner - the Captain was upshall, very little star power. If the 98 team played the 2003 team it would be interesting.
The Slovak team of 2003 might be their worst of all time and that is saying something. They managed to get 3rd in their division thanks to a ridiculously underachieving Swiss team and a Belarussian team that had top end talent but little else.
The 2003 Swedish Team has to be Sweden's worst. The goaltending was putrid, the D was awful and the forwards full of defense first players and an over rated mini magic man.
The Russians had a 16 year old Ovechkin and Grigorenko...the player that should have been.
