I'll drop him in fantasy and he'll be fine. Sorry, Wall. This one is one me. I thought I could potentially snag a goalie here and drop that Korp of a corpse..

Because the rest of recent Oilers history doesn't matter anymore, right?
Not really. Skinner did fine last year too. Sure Campbell is a lost cause but Skinner is the guy they drafted and developed.

Also Rodrigue (another guy they drafted) has been doing well in the AHL.

After the Campbell fiasco they should definitely be wary of free agent goalies.

No excuses, it was bad....*but* the story in the Athletic this morning talked about how he got up at 2:00am in Sweden, got stuck in customs and made it to American Airlines Center right after warms up.....and then the Wild played like ass in front of him.

Again, he was bad but I doubt it was indicative of anything other than a bad game. And I agree, starting him in Dallas against that team with half the Wild roster hurt is a "wtf?" decision.

This isn’t going to define his career.

The Wild really didn’t put him in a position to succeed which is a weird thing to do to your prized goalie prospect.

I dunno if it counts, since he appeared in relief before (and since an AHL-Team plays in front if him), but Magnus Chronas first NHL start didn’t go well:

He lasted one period and gave up 4 goals on 12 shots (66.67 SPCT).

In two games this season, he has a GSAE of -4.8 and his career numbers after 2 games look like this: GAA 9.5, SPCT 72.2

Benning screwed up the cap and forgot on his call up limit and threw in dipietro to get absolutely SLAUGHTERED
Guy was still in juniors

Even Joe Thornton said he felt bad
I had to check and DiPietro might have the worst NHL numbers for any goalie that has played games in three or more different seasons.

4 years, 3 games, 5.26 GAA, .771SV% and 0-2-0 record

Old news, but for the Canes Jack Lafontaine takes the cake.

He first came in relief on 1/13/2022 and let in 2 goals on two shots. Both were breakaways IIRC so no biggie.

He then played a start on 1/22 vs the Devils. Let in 7 goals on 38 shots. Probably the worst goaltending performance I've ever watched.

he was developed so poorly by Benning. This isnt saying he would have made the NHL or anything like that.
Just more of a mindset of "are you trying to sabotage this kid"

One season Benning flat out refused to take him off that "Covid Emergency 3 man roster"
he came out and said please let me get games in the AHL, I need to play hockey and Benning wouldn't take him off it.

Oh no , you’re wrong. I read right on the Wild board that this was a good result for him because HE MADE EXTRA THOUSANDS IF DOLLARS AND DOESNT CARE ABOUT THE RESULT OF THE GAME.

.750%, 7.08 GAA.

Adam Hauser's lone NHL action was 50 minutes in relief of Mathieu Garon in a 10-1 loss to the Sabres. Felt bad for Hauser, game was already lost when he came in but he never got another shot in the NHL.

That Kings line-up is putrid, looks like a few guys were out with injuries. Nathan Dempsey with over 23 mins TOI to lead the team, Jeff Cowan with the lone goal.

Dustin Brown is the only name in the lineup that lasted till their first Cup, and he somehow escaped with a +1 and a helper.

It's too bad he signed that offseason in Germany (and I don't recall if the Kings had any interest), but the Kings used five goalies the next year and seven goalies the year after that, so he would have gotten a look for sure.

Was that article maybe about his dad? He was there for the debut - I'm sure that was a quick, impromptu trip for him.

I don't think Jesper would be in Sweden. He played a game for Iowa on the 6th and has been with the Iowa Wild all season.

Oops….lol. Now it was really bad!
