Everyone always focuses on their favorite whipping boys in these threads like Nurse.

Here's some overpays that are worse than Nurse, but rarely mentioned:

Bobrovsky
Trouba
Seguin
Gallagher
Anderson
Huberdeau
Copp
Chiarot
Stephenson
Grubauer
Jones
Gibson
R.Strome
B. Schenn
Merzlikens
Swayman

Plus soon to be Sheshterkin, cause of course.

Seguin was on fire this year before he got hurt. 9 goals and 11 assists in 19 games.

Last year he was under performing, but this year he was looking great and he was also playing through his hip injury

Huberdeau Is on pace for 34 goals this year. Definitely the worst contract in the NHL.
I won't lie, I had no idea. I knew he started hot and then tailed off. 30 is his career high too! Since I'm stat watching.. he normally has about 2.5x more assists to goals. This year it's about 1 to 1. I have no point, just looking at his stats after reading he was on pace for 34.lol

This will surprise you but I wrote those comments separately for a reason. You combined two different, on purpose, comments and combined them to make up something that was never said.

You are arguing with yourself at this point.
You made two ashtonishing comments whether that is done at once or separately is irrelevant and neither is right at this very moment. No I am arguing with myself, now I have seen it all.

Even worse, you THINK it wont age well, 1st pairing defenseman with also just two more years left. So we can continue for a while, yes.

Who are your other 4? Nurse doesn't make it for me. Hes a 7-8 mil dman making 9.25. For instance both Huberdeau and EP40 are 6 to 7 mil forwards making 10.5-11.6.
Nurse is the most caveman D Ive think Ive seen
Has all the atheltich tools, but has major problems with positioning. And add to that he cant help himself from going all in Offensivly, even when he shouldnt.

That makes him a top 4 D who needs a a very steady defensive D with a great pass to make up for him, and all that for 9 millions....

I would call him a 7M D ... now Huberdeau is doung better, but yes overpaid. He is all finesse as a forward. Elite skill and stickhabdling, but maybe not so much of digging deep or such.

The fact that he misses 15-20 games per season doesn't help his case.....

Tyler's high point for points in the last 5 seasons is 52 points at $10 million. That's horrendous for a forward.

Somehow he never gets mentioned, but Nurse, and Huberdeau, and Gallagher, etc always do. I wonder why?

Was never a fan of Kadris contract, though it's maybe not the worst in the league.

Guy won a cup and ran for money. No other team was going to give him that money/term...Calgary was desperate, so it's hard to blame him for taking a 7 year deal.

He probably would be playing on 3-5 year deals if it wasnt for the situation Calgary was in.

Seguin's name is always in discussion every year for worst contract. Not sure how you've missed that, but I was just stating he was actually having a great season this year like someone ( maybe you ) were saying Nurse is having a good season, even though his contract is also terrible

I'm just saying he gets mentioned a fraction the amount of Canadian players.

American players, especially in the southern cities always fly under the radar in discussions like these.

Like how Nurse's terrible contract value is overstated because he's really the only player on the Oilers that isn't on a good contract so the haters line up to "dunk" on it.

He makes 10.5 million dollars.

Also, the "guy who has spent a decade shooting at 12% suddenly shoots 24% on a small sample size" isn't fooling anyone.

Doubling your career shooting % and still not even being close to a PP is absolutely ATROCIOUS for 10.5 mill

Seguin deserved to be in these conversations in the past but you're right that he was playing well this year before his injury

Nurse has worser deal for his game than many on this list. Dome of them are even fine for their teams.

Has anybody Mentioned Dougie Hamilton and Timo Meier yet?
No one I guess. Because they are not.

I Heard Huberdeau's passing is the best the flames have ever seen.

I feel like I am in the musical Six: who has it worst? I see what you are all trying to do, make me feel better about the shitty contracts on my own team. Not happening, still gonna bitch and moan over Elvis and Damon Severson's contracts.

I'm still seeing a lot of Seth Jones in this thread. I keep asking this: Why?

Only 4 players in the league play more minutes-per-game AND get more points-per-game. FOUR. Werenski, Sergachev, Makar, Quinn Hughes. End of list. Those 4 get Norris discussion.

I know he's a bit overpaid at 9.5 million. And his advanced stats are not great because the Hawks are currently terrible. But come on. 25 minutes a game doesn't come for free. You can do a lot worse than Seth Jones. There's no way he's more than a million or two overpaid. There's an endless list of players more overpaid than that.

Seguin is a more complete player than said players. If he was healthy I could see him hitting 70p , and being a sound 2 way player, leader and with both a good attitude towards the game and sledom having a slack game.
