He’s paid 1.5M more than the goalie who won the cup last year, who signed his deal 6 years ago.

Seems a lot of people have not seen nurse this season. He's not 9.5 but he's 7 or 8 if he hits UFA. And we are not good without him.

His biggest issue is that they keep stapling him with 5/6 guys. I get the argument he should be able to carry them for 9.5 but I'd oesnt change the fact that he plays with below average top 4 players.

I'd also not consider swayman at all. People are pissed he held out and had a slow start. He's legit amazing and will work out of this during that contract. Young potential Vezina contender for several years.

These sort of straw polls usually wind up with opinions formed over time. Nurse is getting punched up in here even if his last two years haven't been bad. Zibby's just found a new low publically even if Ranger fans were worried about his lack of 5-on-5 scoring last year. Probably by the end of the year, he'll have more traction.

For all the early bitching about the Stamkos and Marchessault contracts, those two are #1/2 on the team in goals scored and #2/3 in forward scoring.

Math is a thing. $9.25M for Nurse is insane. He is the 8th highest paid dman in the league, currently producing offensively as the 43rd, barely PP's, is average defensively, and average on the PK. And this is a great year for him compared to previous ones!

He is a slam dunk top 5 on this list.

Kings fans are thrilled he is skating again but you rather have Nurse for another decade than Doughty for an extra $1.8M, who is much better and for just two more years. Heck, Doughty actually had one of his better years last season.

Well, if he's playing like a 6.5M defenseman, which is probably being conservative, that's less than 3 million he's overpaid. And there are definitely more than 5 guys overpaid by that much.
