Congrats USA --would have been well deserved for either team!

McAvoy looked good but I continued to be annoyed with Team Canada's usage of Lauzon... kid deserved more minutes but they wouldn't give them to him. He did get beat to the outside a few times early so that may have been a factor. His first 2 steps to turn from backwards to chasing the winger are sloppy.

Too bad the Bruins didn't draft Chabot instead of Zboril. MacAvoy/Chabo/tCarlo would have been awesome.

That was some amazing goaltending in the OT and SO. One of the more entertaining games I've seen in many many years.

Some good NHL coaching will help fix that.

Congrats to McAvoy, he looked great.

Chabot was insane, made some beauty game saving defensive plays.
Chabot- Karlsson won't be fun to watch.

I hope next year Finns won't be as embarrassing as they were this year.

Chabot was great offensively, but not sure where you saw the game saving stuff? He's an adventure in his own end, like a lot of good offensive D. It's not an accident that Zboril was asked to carry the defensive mantle in St John's.

Really we would be in hockey heaven right now

That game was amazing, like someone said before, real true hockey before they coaches risky play out of it.

McAvoy was fantastic today, really love his take charge mentality when the US where down, 35 + min on the ice too, a real work horse.

Lauzon is really intriguing, make some real good play and have the fondation to be a solid pro if he can improve his defense, lack mobility backward a bite and get a little bit to magnetise by the puck on some play where he should stay in his zone. Also he's a gambler at the offensive blue line often going all in to keep the puck in even if the support is lacking in case he doesn't succed.

On a end note, we talk about Charlie for being a horse tonight and it's well deserve, but Chabot played 10 more minutes :help: Talk about always being on the ice

At one point late in the 2nd, Chabot skated deep into the US end, threw a blind pass to the middle that was picked off, and the US went down the other end on a 2-on-1... and the announcers praised him for it.

You're all welcome at my house:)

I've been to Vancouver Island several times, maybe 10 times over the yrs..I have a brother who left Newfoundland with his girlfriend over 20 years ago and lived in Port Macneil and now living in Campbell River. They started working on a salmon farm and went on from there. Van. Island is absolutely beautiful as well as its people. I was always made welcome there, especially Mcneil, I guess where its only a small place with maybe 3,000 people living there.

Lol, I'l make another trip in 2018 and see you then. I have a severe bad back so sleeping on the floor is perfect for me.

Hope you and your family had a great Christmas and all the very best of 2017 from my family to all of your's..

Not sure about what you say, Chabot's not perfect but he is one of the best D in this tournament in his own zone too and Zboril having to take a lesser offensive role in St John's as alot to do with Chabot being alot better at creating offense than Zboril is.

Well you've got yourself the next Ryan McDonagh. Congrats.

Well hello stranger. Hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas and from my family to your's, all the very best in 2017..

Seems your team has been struck really hard with injuries. And seems you lose 2 at a time. Galenyuk and Deharneis {sry for spelling} went down I think a game apart and this week you guys lost 2 more along with Markov and Shaw..Man, that's a lot of good players. I think I'm safe to say the majority here hate to see any players injured, unless its someone like Matt Cooke who loves to hurt players. But I think he finally retired. Please correct me if he's still playing.

Take care Whitesnake..You're definitely one of the good ones around here. Cheers!!

Brother works on a salmon farm and so did I 20 years ago. He also lived in Port Hardy, greatest fishing in the world, along with the West coasters.

I am serious, but you understand, people from this part of the world are as generous as Saskatchewaners.

Been to CR a tonne as I travel for work, home town of Brind Amour.

Christmas was great kids were happy and I ate a tonne of turkey, ham, salmon, prawns and scallops.

2018-2019 cant wait.

So the all star team is:

Kaprisov
Keller
Nylander
Chabot
McAvoy
Samsonov

With Chabot as tournament MVP, they say it's the 1st defensemen to win the MVP since the creating of the award some 15 years ago.

Nice to see McAvoy on that team, well deserve.
