Imagine Othmann on the right, getting fed by Panarin...
We don’t have anyone on the team that scores from there. Would be nice.

Everyone saying we never have a shooter prospect lol..

Lindy Ruff neutered him.

I liked Berard shooting it after the offside whistle lol, little things like that and how hard he smacks his stick on the ice demanding the puck and when he just randomly slashes or shoves the other teams winger he's lined up against after the face-off. Kid is just an arrogant prick lol, we could use some of that edge/swagger
He’d probably hide K’Andre’s signing bonus from him when he signs his extension.

Don’t worry. He just never liked Othmann, as he said earlier. He’s invested in being “right,” not so much with making a coherent point, and even if Othmann is an all star some day I doubt he will be convinced Othmann is any good. He already claimed Othmann couldn’t crack the top 12 forwards on this team (Whoops) in this the final U20 he is eligible for (he’s eligible for the next one too) and that he took a bunch of penalties last preseason (he didn’t take any). Hahaha. There’s no point arguing with those sorts.
James Duthie and Bob McKenzie were discussing Othmann after the first period. McKenzie brought up Othmann took two penalties against Sweden in a preliminary game. He took a third penalty but they didn't call it. The coaching staff sent Othmann a message by scratching him for first game of the tournament against Latvia. McKenzie said Othmann is a goal scorer and he will score many goals in The NHL. Tell that to some people on the Rangers board.

25 people a day post their Ranger line combinations and I have yet to see even the most optimistic posters put him in the top 6. In fact, I’m not even sure I’ve seen him in the lineup.
Yeah there’s NO reason to rush this kid. Give him a cup of coffee and, unless by some slim chance he dominates against NHLers, send him back to dominate juniors.

Hopefully within the next 2 seasons...both guys are donning Ranger gear . I have maybe a one week window to catch Cameron for a second to press him on his thoughts of both if he comes back to PEI for a few days before his OHL team opens camp. He might by chance sneak in a round or two of golf ....those guys are busy fellows .

Just from this tourney alone, the Rangers have 4 players that are likely set to be wingers for them in the very near future. Cuylle and Sykora are bottom 6 types. Berard is more likely a tweener. Othmann has that top 6 ability. Sykora is obviously the furthest away, but if you are a bottom 6 winger on the Rangers now, I wouldn't be buying any property in the area.

The best thing that I've seen from this group of young wingers is the physical side of things. Willing to go into the corners and work. Play physical too, even Berard will hit you. Add in someone like Trivigno who is the same way in spite of his size. I don't think this franchise will need to look externally for a winger for quite some time.

Luke Hughes looks unreal. Devils are set up to be good for a long time. Long painful rebuild but looks extremely promising. Did it right.
"did it right" lol sucking for a decade and drafting top 6 every single year and wining the lottery FOUR times will eventually lead to accumulating good prospects, yes. Too bad nobody still wants to play theyre, they can't even get Bratt to commit

The Devils need to be able to fill out their roster a lot more.

Hughes is a star but as far as finesse forwards go, even Pat Kane can't make a team good by himself.

To be good they are going to have to convince the decent 2nd line, 2nd pairing players they develop to stick around.

For the elite player that he is, his skating is pretty poor indeed. When him and Othmann played in Switzerland in a fast league on European ice, the difference was visible.
Thanks , I only saw a short part of the game but it stood out to me.

Isn’t this supposed to be an historically good Slovakian generation?

Its too good. Both Slafkovsky and Nemec are gearing up for the NHL camp.

These smaller hockey nations always have depth issues. The Slovaks could possibly have been a little dangerous with a dominating Slafs and Nemec. But they still would have had issues.

So does that mean most likely all 3 make their NHL debuts this season? Why else would they not release them for the world juniors

There's a chance they start in the AHL. They just don't want them to sustain serious injuries like Kirby Dach a few years ago

That Russian defensman they drafted a couple of years ago with the 40 letter last name is real good too.

Shakir Mukhamadullin?

Craig Button compared Othmann to Jason Robertson. Robertson would be a top 5 pick in a 2017 redraft.

id take that. Othmann has a lot more grit and phyiscal game than Robertson although I think Robertson is much more of a complete player.

Yeah he is.

And I'd take Schneider on the Devils back end if I was a fan of that team.

I haven't seen him play since he suited up at the WJCs a few years ago so perhaps hes improved but he was one of the single dumbest players I've ever watched.

My favorite part was one clown devil fan trying to use still images to defend him as a response to actual video evidence that displayed his gaffes.

Yeah, I'm not sure Robertson is the comparison I'd go with. Othmann plays a more physical game, causing turnovers by being in the opponent's face.

Othmann sees himself as a hybrid of Kyle Connor and Matthew Tkachuk, for what it's worth. I can certainly see some parts of their game in Othmann's style. I think his shot is NHL-caliber. He gets it off quick, and goalies often don't have time to adjust their position. Where Othmann will struggle in the NHL is the quick transition from defense to offense, but if we become a better possession team that should offset that risk a bit.
