The US team has everything but finishing skill. We got the ball into dangerous areas in every game we played, but guys like Dempsey (or Altidore) just aren't world class finishers.

Bradley with a real joke of a tournament. Seemed like he had a "good touch" percentage of maybe 7-8%.

Absolutely brutal. His foot is where opportunities went to die in this tournament.

Half of the staff of my bank, including the president, rolled into the local Buffalo Wild Wings and took in the game. At least that happened.

I wanted to punch that red-headed Belgian in the face. He's good.

Some nice games here for the quarterfinals. Let's see how Colombia looks against some quality.

Played in the Dutch league and was a reserve there already. No idea what he was doing here.

Belgium could have won 8-3 but I think USA wasted a really good chance to advance.

They should have scored in 93th minute and got opportunities in overtime too.

I like their compete level, but thats typical for the USA. Europeans cant match that.

This has potential. Gonna use it in our loss PGTs next year.

I didn't watch the whole game and while it does sound like Howard did quite well, I'm gonna say that Howard is no Quick when it comes to saves.
Quick stretches to make saves.
One of Howard's save attempt looked almost like he knew it was going on the outside of the post but when he turned around 'open net'.

I watched a bit of the first half and it was basically all Belgium. When it comes down to it...US went 1-3 in the tournament. lol

See you in 4 years USA. Great effort but missed chances and flat play in the early part of the game did them in.

4 years? The US plays games throughout the year in separate tournaments and qualifiers. Now that Klinnsman is coach the US will be facing much tougher competition on a regular basis.

I disagree sir. The US has hard working players and not enough skill in all aspects of the game. Dempsey has skill, the new Green kid has skill, Bradley showed flashes of skill, Howard obviously has skills. Up and down the roster we have players who play on marginal european teams. Belgium has skill, they dominated us in everything but the scoreline. Lots of work to be done, but it's great for US soccer to get the exposure.

Mr Irreverent has it right.

Great fighting spirit, great conditioning, physical toughness and decent speed, everyone on an acceptable skill level, a couple of close to world-class players (Howard, perhaps Dempsey), but in the end just not enough flair and skill all around to match top teams.

Still a very decent team any day of the week and deservedly in the Top 16 this World Cup.

France and Germany put me to sleep.

Here's to hoping that Brazil Colombia is more entertaining.
