Yeah I agree.
My point is that some people were looking at this the wrong way. He lost his spot because he's sitting (due to injury), not sitting because he lost his spot.

O'Reilly....a player who has competed for Canada in 4 of the last 5 WCs for Team Canada. Loyalty matters. Except for Taylor Hall. Also, center versatility with Seguin going down probably factors in, and his 2-way ability.

Is ROR really that much better? Glancing over numbers, they are pretty damn equal with Wayne being a really strong power play piece.

It's irrelevant to the selection process.
Yes, ROR is a better player like explained above. He's more versatile as he can play either center or wing & can play defensive situations as well. Simmonds can't do that which hurts him there.

No, that's a who cares to the point that it's so irrelevant to the discussion of the selection process for the team. As I said in my follow up post.

What ROR did was terribly stupid, but it's not gonna disqualify him from international selection. Clearly Babcock and co are not fans of Hall, and if they wanted a left hand shot who can play C and LW, then ROR is a solid choice.
So far Couture has replaced Benn, Perry has replaced Carter, and ROR has replaced Seguin.

Jonathan Quick isn't exactly chopped liver. Quick played well in game 1 while Schneider didn't play well in game 2 so Quick earned the start in game 3 & played well during that too. It's hard to argue with them going with Quick heading into it right now.
