I hope Torts conducts himself iin an honorable way. I don't want any cheap shots in this kind of tournament.

I think its inevitable that the US takes its pint of blood from canada. Especially once they start losing and their tournament is effectively over.

Shades of Nagano 98 for the US Team? :help:

I'm not gonna jump on the Torts hate bandwagon I'm very surprised they let him coach though. Figured they give it to Sullivan or someone whose had more recent success.

Ugly game by the US.

As much fun as it is to laugh at Torts; does anyone know how much say he had in picking the team?
Is it mainly him or is there a 'management' team that does the roster stuff?

Picking Duby and Cally is great for old time Rangers sake but we left so much firepower at home. Yandle, Shatty, Kessel, Tyler Johnson, and Boone Jenner come to mind. Kessel usually plays well in these kinds of tournaments.

Jack Johnson & Brandon Dubinsky are playing so yea he had some insight. They shouldn't be near the practice squad let alone starting.

It is funny how many people are rooting against US, I feel bad for the players since they're going to look bad while Torts and Lombardi assembled this mess. So many better options that were left out.

I'm not rooting against them, mostly because I'm not so certain that getting embarrassed in this tournament will spark any changes. Sochi didn't.

The good news is the US has some strong up and coming youth, 2 years from now there should be a new wave of olympians simply based on age of current guys. Eichels, Matthews, Gaudreau, will push out guys now in their 30's.

And after this fiasco Torts will be nowhere near that team.

We'll see. Until the guys like Abdelkader, Kesler, Dubinsky (who I love), Callahan, Backes, etc... aren't considered, I'll leave the minimal faith I do have in the Rangers :)

Maybe USA Hockey could use an analyst *thinking face*
