My big herdman criticism, probably for this entire tournament is not pulling atiba at halftime, but that's probably a function of estaquio's injury, honestly.

No I'm with you... there is enough quality on the bench, that could put a better foot forward than Atiba has. He's an emotional leader, not a tactical one, and the weakness in that is really showing today. He needs to want to win more than he wants favour with the players.

That does not come from the coach during soccer matches. It's not hockey. The players decide that stuff.

There is no way in hell this is cannot be discussed in game-planning. Hell, some players require to be the PK taker. If this was a heat of the moment decision against Belgium, that's still a failure. Regardless of the poor attempt, Davies shouldn't have shot. Period.

That's it for Canada then. Unfortunately.

Hopefully Croatia knocks Belgium out of the competition in the final round.

They really messed up that Belgium game.

Need CBs and a keeper for 2026

The CSA needs to get their head out of their asses and get adequate fundamental training at all levels to teach possession and defense here. Go watch youth football here and it's still attacking longballs...

It really hasn't changed much since my U13 days. Most of our young talent are better off going abroad.

They are. If you're a young soccer player in Canada and have potential, you should be heading to Europe as soon as you can. This country does not properly fund youth development in this sport.
