I just wonder how many more Olympics before they threaten to remove this if it continues to be US/Canada every time. That’s sort of how softball got booted
The US women's basketball team has won 7 straight gold medals and the final game usually isn't even that close. Should we get rid of women's basketball?

Congrats to Team Canada, great they avenged losing the last gold medal but they redefined the term "holding on for dear life", not just in the last few minutes but the entire third period. Thankfully they got 3 early as they were just awful for the rest of the game.

We should probably get rid of womens' basketball in the olympics before hockey, but for women this is pinnacle for their sports especially for women's hockey. Would suck to have them lose this and have no big event to play for and win.

Canada just outskilled them. It was like watching the Lightning dismantle the hard working Hurricanes. At some point it doesn’t matter if you dominate possession if the other team has too much scoring talent.

I'm against of getting rid of either of them, I was just using it as an example to show women's hockey isn't the only sport that has dominance. China dominates table tennis and there other sports that have 1 or 2 countries that dominate but we don't talk about getting rid of them.

On the one hand it does suck that in 24 years there hasn't been more progress in other nations having more competitive teams to give Canada and the US more consistent competition. On the otherhand it would probably suck more to take away the biggest and most important tournament that women hockey players can look forward to. I mean outside of the Olympics, what other tournaments do they have that is anywhere near as significant?

Any american cry? Nothing wrong with that. Just curious. Because wjc = tears

24 years is basically one child-into-athlete cycle. It takes time, especially since other countries were mostly starting from literally zero.

This Canada team was one of the best women’s hockey team ever assembled.
