Fantilli is having a good season to be sure. But I wouldn't label it as borderline historic. He's 3rd in the NCAA for points (11 G, 15, A, 26 PTS) which is the highest he ranks in any category. And for many stats he's no higher than 5 or 6. Certainly not borderline historic numbers by any stretch.
He's a good player for sure, and I think he'll develop into an excellent NHL center. But labeling the season he's having as borderline historic is far from accurate. And halfway through the Michigan season he's still a ways off from approaching the tops of the Michigan record books.
