What he does there means nothing here. He might be dominating the NCAA but he's been nothing but a fart in the wind the entire pre-tourny and this game. Nothing he has done so far has made a sliver of a difference in any of the games he's played. Honestly his minutes would be better served by just double shifting Bedard.

I mean Jimmy f***ing Snuggarud is producing close to the same and is like 4 months older than Fantilli. It's not as much of a stretch as you think it is. You are either massively overrated the NCAA or massively underating players that choose to play in the CHL.

Just because they choose to play in the CHL doesn't make them inferior. Plenty of this kids could go to the NCAA and dominate. No f***ing question. Give your head a shake.

I questioned his spot on this team the entire time. There's plenty of kids who I think would have been better choices to make this team. There's also a few other players on this team that I questioned as well. Not just him. This team was picked like it had a salary cap. They left a lot of talent off that should be there.

Even though im Canadian i've always somewhat enjoyed watching Canadian hockey get embarrassed at international tournaments. The men's tournaments aren't nearly as unbalanced as the women's but the entire production is so corny.

I really hope this game proves to be a huge wakeup call to Team Canada. They have to work hard for everything in this tournament and not get drawn into the hype. If they can do that, they can win it all.

GG Czechs, that was a well earned, well deserved victory on your part. Took the opportunity and ran with it, probably the best Czech game I've seen in years at World Juniors.

Parting thought from me but Suchanek went undrafted and he took out the US in the Quarters 5 months ago and beat Canada here. That is unheard of for Czech people. Someone better get him as an overager.

I still think Canada wins gold and wins the pool.

What makes Fantilli so special that he's the only player that can produce the way he is in the NCAA?

Is his shot better than everyone on the team? His skating? His stickhandling? Does he just process the game better than everyone else?

I think a lot of people just look at his stats as a whole and don't realize that he had 11 points in 4 games vs the 52nd and 57th ranked teams in the NCAA (62 total teams). Take away those games and it's 15 points in 12 games, which is still very good for a player in their draft year playing in the Big10, but IMO he wouldn't be getting as much hype if you take away those 4 games.

This TC is a monster on paper. This might be exactly what they needed to put their asses in line.

Maybe they keep shitting the bed but I wouldn't bet on it. I know I wouldn't want to be their next opponents.

The loss wasn’t on him at all

He was a big part of it. Wasn’t entirely on him, but he was awful. The weak call on Dean was game-changing, but you need saves from goalie. That said, Canada needed to be much better.
