Chychrun and Fabbro are exactly what we were missing at the World Juniors.

Juulsen will probrably there but Fabbro is making his name right now. After one period, he was clearly the best player on ice with Chychrun. This is a great pair who can produce offense on both sides and very responsable behind the play. I would say that Chychrun was the best man in the 1st but lately Frabbro has generated two great chances for two goals.

Im sorry to say but going forward boris is canadas property as he was added to the u18 team

Also added is Noah Gregor

I honestly never heard of these 2 guys

Does anyone know who these guys are and how good they are?

Also conner hall impressed me with his physical play- what typ of player is he? Is he better than sean day?

Boris was the key to SSM upsetting Sarnia hardworking fiesty player who plays with heart, can't tell you about the others.

Hall's game has improved by leaps and bounds this year. He's a physical d-man who will jump into the play occasionally, but he thinks defense first. He'll be the first one to stick up for a teammate. He's learned to control his emotions for the most part, and while he's played a very disciplined game he got a lot of BS penalties towards the end of the season.

He'll be Kitchener's 1A/1B defenseman next year.

It's a team full of leftover pieces thrown onto a team with a hope of winning. The Hlinka team is organized with the best coaches, best players, and an idea of a proper system. This is a whack team, they want to play a fast type of game, but they have slow players like Stanley and Hague trying to move the puck, but the bottom 6-7 forwards aren't really matching the system either.

I watched all of the Ivan Hlinka games and the U18 games, the U18 team looks unprepared, not ready, and not a lot of chemistry or idea of a gameplan, whereas the Ivan Hlinka team was smooth, quick, and complete.

I was excited for this u18 team like every year, but I didn't expect much, it's a really odd roster.

I think I'm only watching the Ivan Hlinka in the future after this tourney.

Ivan Hlinka is not televised lol but I agree this tournament was rather pedestrian, I think the lack of a crowd took away most of the appeal personally.

I was venting a bit as well lol

Besides one period, the kids played pretty damn well.

It's always an odd roster, made up mostly of CHL players whose teams either didn't make the playoffs, or were eliminated in the first round. It must be a challenge for Hockey Canada to even put a roster together.

What's going on in Canadian junior hockey.
This was the second time in this year when Canada is out of the medals in U18 and U20 WJC's. Meanwhile Finland won both tournaments.

Of course one reason is that Canada didn't have all their top prospects in this tournament because of CHL playoffs.
But this is not best situation for you to prepare to next World Juniors in Toronto and Montreal.

I don't know much of Canadian juniors etc details but i know that Canadians are really passionate hockey fans.
And their expectations are sky-high in every junior world championships tournament.

4th place in U18 WJC's and 5th place in World juniors isn't that what Canada expecting their national junior teams.
10-3 fiasco in bronze game against USA was totally blowout and there's no excuses someones (Coaching staff apparently) should lost their job.

Come on Canada you know how to play hockey.
See u next world juniors and have a nice summer

Short answer, nothing, other countries have simply gotten better. Furthermore, this is a noted bad birth year in Canadian hockey even with our best 98 born players, two of which could've been extremely impactful in Patrick and Dubois. Couple that with patchwork and suspect coaching and you have the usual recipe for Canada at the U-18s. However, there are no excuses for the fiasco that was the 2016 World Juniors or the 10-3 massacre at the hands of the USA. The USA was fortunate enough to ice a team that plays together all year, plus an entire line of high end replacements (Brown, Yamamoto and Mittelstadt), which certainly contributed to the loss.

Also, recall that Canada beat the Finns in the preliminary round and looked like the superior team.

Theres nothing wrong with Canadian junior hockey. For years they had the advantage because of Hockey Canada's intense focus in that area. Again, other nations (Finland, Sweden, USA) have simply closed the gap that once existed.

Yeah Canada beat Finland in preliminary round game.
But it was pretty close that game would have gone overtime if Tolvanen etc Finnish prospect would have scored 2 goals for those chances what Puljujarvi created.

The lack of discipline destroyed Canada's world juniors.
But still it was great game and everyone will remember it for years.

Hopefully Canada plays better next world juniors.
I wish warm and nice spring for Canadians and have a nice summer.

See you next world juniors.

You as well

We'll have to enjoy our short summers then get ready for Christmas and the World Junior tradition, my favourite time of year.
