Seems like Pettersson is the spare forward. Only played 6:46 in the opener. That's pretty disappointing to see, given that he had a decent tournament in a larger role last year.

All kidding aside, hopefully Team Canada got stronger through the pre-tournament round. It takes a bit of time to gel as a group, Canada often gets better/stronger as they go. Great to not fall behind early in the tournament and have to play catch-up.

WJC is often my favourite hockey of the year. It's great to see the best prospects from all these countries and watch Sens draftees.

Watching all these talented prospects belonging to other teams just highlights how awful our prospect pool is, and how incredibly embarrassing it is to have one of the worst pools in the league despite having sucked for the last 7 years.

Incredible how much damage our previous management group inflicted on this franchise.

You do understand it's not normal for teams that have yet to make the playoffs after a long rebuild to have zero top prospects added to their system in the last 3 years, in which they finished 7th worst, 10th worst and 12th worst.

In fact it's absolutely unheard of, but you should know that.
