Truly not a victory to be proud of. But to pretend that it comes as a surprise is just as naïve as believing that this tournament can be held without any teams in quarantine.
Swiss just won lol
Head to head for a 2 way tie.Is tie breaker head to head or goal differential? I always get confused.
Sounds like both are goalies. Why do they have to forfeit with only 2 players positive?
In such a short tournament, rescheduling isn't really an option. It ends on January 5th (basically a week from now), and there's more than just arena scheduling issues if this date is pushed back. Why didn't they reschedule?
Weird how none of the real medical specialists and team doctors are NOT agreeing that they should play sick because of $$$$.Don't test, it's that simple. Why are we testing asymptomatic healthy athletes for a cold?
your homer glasses are shining bright here, bold claim.
This comment still brings you the gold medal you so deserve!
Might as well never leave your house
I’m european and we have none of that republican-democrat divide. We are having entirely different political environments so no point using the argument. (Heck, you might even call me a Commie)No, none of your preferred experts say that. It’s a political situation. Trying to act like there’s not some split of opinion and this isn’t highly contested and political is ignoring reality.
No, it likely falls under OTB.So are bookies going to pay out anyone that bet on a Swiss win? With the likelihood of this repeating to other big teams, I think I'll start betting on outsiders for every game now.
How are we gonna avoid this issue? Usa just had to forfeit. Not personal, but a lot of comments are about to be deleted. Lots of reports. Not a covid board. There are covid boards on here to go and talk about it though!
Well said. So thankful it's not in Canada for a while after this. You know the insanity will still be here for quite sometime. Also happy to see the Canadian NHL teams losing big money because of the insane restrictions - they seemingly welcome it to, so it's great to see them suffer.Tournament integrity is effectively over. This is what the IIHF deserves for putting the tournament in a country where health bureaucrats are going to mandate testing for those with no symptoms.
Play it on the 1st, it's a day off.In such a short tournament, rescheduling isn't really an option. It ends on January 5th (basically a week from now), and there's more than just arena scheduling issues if this date is pushed back.
Why didn't they reschedule?
Yeah, that's a possibility. It will depend on how the testing goes for the other players in the next day or two. There's a strong probability this forces the team to forfeit the tournament, unfortunately for those players.Yeah but covid doesnt end after just 2 days. They probably have to forfeit against sweden also.

Well i wouldnt want the swedish players get infected by the US. We might have to forfeit in playoffs lolYeah, that's a possibility.
