GDT: WJC: Sweden vs Česko

The shots aren't lopsided and the Czechs have flubbed some of their best chances but their control of the game is lopsided, and it appears relatively easy, too.
 
By the way, how come we're using the blue unis for the third game in a row? Usually we only use them once per tournament.

Not complaining. I like them better, and blue is the main color of our flag after all.
 
Tichachek has got zero mentions.. he's small... plays pro and is perfect for Jiricek. He just quietly does his job and leaves Jiricek to do good things. He'll be a very good Euro pro for us for years! Plays with Jagr (5point in in 5 games as a 50 year old) and Plekanec as a teenager. Surely they have some advice to give.

I genuinely believe that Sweden would win gold if they’d take Lysell out of the top 6. Put Lekkerimaki back with Ostlund and Ohgren. Let Lysell do his one man show with lesser talent since he’s not interested in using them anyway and whoever plays with him is relegated to playing safety net for his turnovers.

The top line is better this year now that he’s off of it. Let’s elevate the second line that we know works without him and see if he can score on a third line. It literally makes no difference if he doesn’t…he has 0 points out of his teams 12 goals as it is. But he can stop killing the second best line with his zero IQ for a team game

Sapo taken out again... Swedes got his number. He is the ultimate non scoring C that wins draws, battles and does it all (but finish).

Lysell has spent like only one shift in the top 6 this game.

That was one clean period of hockey. From a Czech view.. I'm happy with it. We had several good chances but the 2 biggest ones were fans by Kulich. Might be nervous? Sale with 2 great passes.

Lysell is playing in the bottom 6 now. Thank god.

He might have exited but considering literally nobody is mentioning him or showing the Swedish bench up close we'll never know.
 
Only four shots on goal against in one period that's pretty good if you ask me. Can't recall if it's ever happened against this calibre of an opponent.
 
Honestly? I am quite disappointed with the Czechs in the first period. Yes, we know that establishing actions from the defenders will be a big problem and the Czechs defend well in the middle zone, it's like a smaller version of Kari Jalonen's hockey. But what did they bring to the attack? There wasn't much, from the way I keep hearing the commentators on Czech TV, I have the impression that Canada is playing against Slovakia... to have just seven shots in twenty minutes and Lindbom saw almost all of them... that would be quite disappointing for me as a fan of the Czechs.

After about half of the 1st intermission swedish broadcasters still haven't noticed the absence of Leo Carlsson. Hilarious. It's not like he's been invisible in the previous games.

Svozil braking up a 2 on 1... nice work. Brabened doggedly getting back too (after losing it).. that's nice this year.. the guys that don't score are generally big and can skate. Most play in small rinks already.

Just asked this as well, usually we see them wear blue about once per tournament and it's usually out of necessity.
