GDT: WJC: Sweden vs Česko

I would take the top 4 defensemen from the Czechs over any other team here. Jiricek, Svozil, and Spacek have really stood out. Add one of the best goalies in the tournament, some top forward talent, and a lot of returning experience, and the Czechs are going to be a hard out here for anyone. This is a team capable of winning gold.

Huge save that we needed.. in previous tournaments that is in the back of the net.

Almost a beaut assist to the ref.lol They cost Rysavy a breakaway last time and now set up Sweden.. conspiracy!!! haha

Glad you included Spacek.. he has been amazing for us 2 tourneys in a row now. He's a horse like Slegr, Hamrlik or Jaroslav Spacek!

It is a strong D.. our 8th guy was drafted in the first 100 and won't play (Marek Alscher)...

Unheard of for a Czech team...

I haven't seen Spacek a ton since I've only seen him in international tournaments but he's been a revelation every viewing. Looks like a steal for the Wild.

He got lost in those covid years.. just flew under the radar. Same with Svozil slipping to round 3. They're showing their qualities now though.

Shots are about even.. scoring chances are close. Expecting a Swedish wave soon.

Is that some weird "you missed practice so you can dress but not get into the ice" thing? If he's well enough to dress than he should be well enough to play.

No, coach literally said during yesterday's practice that Leo didn't feel fully okay but hoped he could play today.
 
Hamara doing a real nice and quiet job on third pair. He'll be first pair next tourney.
